  • seriously??? do some research

    Impacts:

Common carp are one of the most damaging aquatic invasive species due to its wide distribution and severe impacts in shallow lakes and wetlands

Their feeding disrupts shallowly rooted plants muddying the water Carp induced decline of water quality = decline in aquatic plants need by waterfowl and fish

  • @esoxkid06 now go check what humans do... then come back.

  • @Kronik420User "Impact of Introduction: The common carp is regarded as a pest fish because of its widespread abundance and because of its tendency to destroy vegetation and increase water turbidity by dislodging plants and rooting around in the substrate, causing a deterioration of habitat for species requiring vegetation and clean water...." USGS (The us government) This section about the damage caused by the common carp goes on for about 5 or 6 times what I have posted.

  • @Kronik420User " There is also evidence that common carp prey on the eggs of other fish species (Moyle 1976a;" Another favorite line from that section.

  • KILL EM ALL!

  • Y the hell didn't u fish u idiots wow ur stupid

  • shut the fuck up kid.

  • because carp are too fat to pull through a 6 inch hole and theyre not ice fishing fish you fucking idiots

  • That's incredible! My friends and I were just out on the ice of Lake Superior today and we saw a fish frozen in the ice... but seeing hundreds of them swimming under you like that would be such an amazing site. Great video! 5 stars for sure.

  • Is it an amazing scene?.. haha just messing with you. that is some crazy shit to see out on the ice. i thought it was crazy when i could see a bass beneath my feet. That had to have been a pretty intense feeling.

  • put a hook down thier and snag one

  • thats fucked

  • Where is this?

  • One of the most hard fighting freshwater fish here yet hardly anybody fihes for them like other fish...seems very strange as they deserve alot of respect! anyways..great vid mate! Tight lines.

  • @michigancarpangler 100% correct! They're highly abundant, fun and challenging to catch and they're everywhere!

Think of it as a good thing for enlightened US carp anglers, less fishing pressure and more fish for us.

  • @michigancarpangler Indeed they are fun to catch, but remember that these fish are a non native invasive species. I catch a lot of them, but just throw them up into the grass or the woods. Respect for being hard fighters, yes, but that does not justify leaving them in the water, they need to be removed.

  • @thefinnishminnow inded, but if that's the case...we are also not a native species, unless of course you are a true native American, so does that mean we should also be killed off??

  • @michigancarpangler You are most certainly right that we are nonnative, and in theory, our removal is the only ultimate solution to the problems we cause, but you know how it is

you really do know your stuff tho, we think very similarly it seems.

  • @thefinnishminnow Indeed we do my friend, anybody who does not give this beautiful creature the maximum respect they deserve..they're a fool! lol

  • @michigancarpangler yes, indeed hmm indeed.

  • @michigancarpangler are you serious?? they deserve respect?? Carp should exterminated off the planet. there a rough fish that destroys game fish habitat.

Their an invasive fish, But i agree you should catch as many as you can to get them out of the lakes

  • @michigancarpangler

they are a great fish to catch.. thats all i target when i go fishing..

    pay them alot of respect..

  • @michigancarpangler Gotta agree man. They are beautiful powerful fish. I went bowhunting for the first time this summer and got a BEAUTIFUL 30" grass carp. The moment the arrow pierced that fish the water erupted and boiled more than a foot high from that single fish. Amazing. After seeing it and feeling its power I swore I'd never shoot another especially since they can be caught by fly fishing. I wouldn't want them to invade here though. Good luck and tight lines to you too bro!

  • @wildcatbungalo thats right man.....they are a better sport on your rod !!

  • @michigancarpangler i can agree with that. but they are kind of gross.

  • @michigancarpangler

Its because they taste like shit!

  • @michigancarpangler That's usualy because people usualy want the tasty fish, but I gotta tell ya, these can be a real fun fish once they get to biting.

  • @michigancarpangler I use a #4 weight fly-rod with a long streamer, usually a woolly booger that's about 3-4 inches long. Several colors work but I've found that purple and gold (with some kind of shiny or metallic properties) are the best. Lots of fun, I've fought some that were about 2-3 feet long for about 15-20 minutes. I don't keep them but they are great for sport-fishing. So ya, I completely agree with you. Gar are the same way.

  • @michigancarpangler you're forgetting that they're not a native species and could cause huge problems because they grow and repopulate so quickly

  • @ubbzz That's true...but who cares when they put up a much better fight then a piddly lil bass or any other mini fish around here! Also...unless you're an Indian you're also not native to this land!

  • @michigancarpangler I never said that they didn't fight...also...I'm Indian...and I'm an American citizen...got a problem with it?

  • @ubbzz Nope...no problem what so ever! Just stating out a fact!

  • @ubbzz

    yes

  • @michigancarpangler

India, like, someone from India, or a Native American?

  • @michigancarpangler Thats right !!!!

  • smoked carp is very good. i have had a lot of people say they wouldn't eat it, but once you convince them to try it, they all agree its good.

  • What I reallyh dig is summer ice fishing.

  • cool

  • I woulda fish for them!!!

  • that ice looks pretty thin

  • i would just drilla a whole and fishen, did u?

  • is that the st lawrence

  • nice!

  • lower a McDonalds frenchfrie down there you'll catch one for sure.

  • timpmurph71 are U shure that U are not an idiot?!

  • hell yeah

  • still, its amazing to see

  • @timpmurph71 you are a fag

  • ahaha

  • what the fuck dude? i go ice fishing and bowfishing all the time, but you have to admit this is a pretty sweet thing to see

  • @IFwetrust1 stop shooting the big ones !! you are a better shooter if you can shoot the small ones !!

[ i am a real carp fisher and treat them with respect.....because they are indeed a beautiful and strong fish]

I am also fishing for bass and walleye and only take the small ones to eat....and leave the big ones for spawning and as good sport fish. hopefully you are agree with me!!

  • @Kronik420User of course i agree man!.....i love o fish for northern pike for example and this winter i caught a 25 lb. fish and I released it, you could tll it had eggs cause of how it seemed to be pretty fat....love catchin the big ones.....love it even more to watch em swim away!

  • @Kronik420User It is actually illegal for anyone to release a caught carp alive in my state. The state gov. and federal gov are paying for 5 million pounds a year to be removed from a single lake. Respect and care is very important in areas where they are native and non destructive. But here actual conservation is done by getting rid of them. Not everywhere is the same.

  • there is bare

  • Happened to me but instead that were perch

  • where was this and whao how clear the ice is

  • That is amazing footage. You never see shit like that and Ice to that clear. And by the way that ice im sure is think it just dont look it
