Dude it's real. There's nothing CGI looking about it... The Plane is that graceful, it's not a normal jet... It has a low take off speed (around 140 knots)... The engines it uses are 2 dual bypass turbo fan engines, the same used in some corporate private jets.. It's also a plane that is ALOT larger than most people think, That's why it looks kind of strange to some.

If you notice the fence posts here are only2.5 to 3.0 feet high, and that you could, at best, stack 3 of these high to touch the bottom of the A-10!!! This then makes a very brave camera operator with the guts to not even flinch as it passed over him. WOW

First of all . Aviator was the term used for military pilots from WW1 to Korea. second they dont rate you on your flying alone and say OK hes #1 because he flies good. Its based on knowledge of enemy planes,Right down to handling characteristics of your enemy ,enemy weapons A.K.A the missiles an enemy uses, and the knowledge of the country your fighting. You dont just hop in a plane and get a grade. And yes at one time there was an aviator rating.

There's no such thing as an "Aviator" rating. First of all you are licensed by grade, which is what kind of flying you can perform, and then you get RATINGS added on to your license. Ratings are type and model of aircraft you're allowed to fly, and what instrument ratings you have. "Aviator" rating sounds like something out of a kids book...

Kookamunga, you appear to understand civilian aviation, however military aviation is a different entity. The term(s) "rated officer/pilot/aviator" go back to the days of the Wright Bros. and are still used in military aviation.

FYI: A military pilot can fly an entire career without ever obtaining an FAA license. We fly by two "sets" of rules. However, I do possess an FAA certificate with various ratings.

And I'm pretty sure that I understand military aviation considering that after I get my commission in May and finish up my ASBC in July I'm going to UPT at Columbus AFB in Mississippi.
