then, when i play pes2010, the gameplay was a bit different(quite inconsistent speed) but acceptable. The worst is: the replay when you score goals. ITs like you press the forward 8x button when you play dvd.

i reset everything, but it still remain.

i used the fur mark 1.7 and i checked test my graphic card which is nvidia geforce gtx 285 but the tempreture is increasing like more than 85 and more n more so i closed the programe,

i dont know much about these stuffs , all i know that i play prototype , and the game freezes and i just press alt+ctrl+del and back to the game, and its ok

you need to get a new one. either your graphics card can not handle the game that well. Or your just on to much and or it gets over heated. My suggestion is DO NOT OVERCLOCK YOUR GRAPHICS CARD its a 50/50% of you frying it. so i could just suggest for you to get a new one. :D

Yeah, that would be one of your computer components crashing. ATI cards are known for getting a little to hot, so you might accidentally throw it over the edge. Just down clock so you don't do any real damage to your card.

dude i have a problem with the temperature.the temperature on mi GPU Doide is 83 ºC Is this overclocing help to the temperature. the problem is the fan it runs but not cool тhe video card.

Don't over clock it if the temperature is that high. Over clocking raises your cards temperature, but it improves game performance.

Probably not. I recommend you reinstall Left 4 Dead. If that doesn't work, post your problem on steam forums ad the community may help troubleshoot your problem. What graphics card do you own?

I took it in increments of 10. You do that so you can find the right ratio of clocks to temperature ratio.

Well, being that it is a laptop card, they are generally prone to overheating as it is. So if you were going to do it, be "very" careful as check temperature, and make the clocks very slight. But i wouldn't recommend it at all.

dont worry about your tempreture, if everything was built in and you havent changed anything than you will be fine, a company wouldnt put in the parts if it would end up getting too hot and braking

Well if he overclocks it, the temp will go up. So it would be dangerous. And some solder melts at 100C (xbox 360...) so i wouldn't think it to be very wise to overclock that.

yes your totally right but you can overclock by about 0.6ghz with no problems, but past that your going to need a good cpu cooler, and overclocking past 1.1ghz you are going to need watercooling

mate, no offence but you're a noob. If you look on any overclocking forum on the net you will see nTune is utter crap.

DL AtiTool (works with nvidia cards perfectly, i oc'd my 7600GS 50% and it can go higher). it monitors temperatures, can overclock the same as riva and unlike riva has an artifact scanning utility to check if the overclock is stable. EVGA Precision is also a nice tool for overclocking nvidia cards, and riva is an all rounder.

but seriously. who would use ntune its so unstable.

Yes, you're probably right about Ntune sucking. But i just use the temperature moderator on it to check stability. I use Riva for everything else. And as for checking stability, why not just run it in a GPU intensive game, such as crysis or something. And play it for a long time while monitoring regularly. If it can handle that, it can handle anything. but I'm not so sur what you mean by artifacts, care to elaborate? I know they are problems, but exactly what they escapes me. Answer plz?

also, crysis doesn't let you watch your temps, while atitool can detect artifacts the human eye cannot see, therefore being more stable than a game increasnig longevity of the chip.. atitool can monitor temps, overclock and detect artifacts - what's there not to like?

Oh, don't worry. All you have do to do it in increments, then every time pull up a graphics intensive game (such as crysis), then monitor the top degrees it will hit. I recommend not going over 70 'C. But don't worry bout burning your card up.

I'm using a stock Nvidia 8500gt. It's regular core clock was 475 mhz. I overclocked it to about 625. I have a stable temp of about 70 degrees celcius. I can't actually specify what company it's from because it came with the computer i bought. But hopefully that information will help you to decide.
