I understand that Golden Boy used their influence with HBO to offer Maidana some kind of deal where he has to not fight Khan for 3 fights. I think the plan is that he loses to a boxer with a good chin that way he never has to fight Khan. The Khan Marquez fight looks like it may fall out of bed which will mean conveniently Khan no longer has to face Maidana and can pick another opponent. How convenient LOL.

Why the delay in Marquez voicing his misgivings only after Maidana was tied up? There was a good chance ODH asked Marquez to be part of the scam and there was never a real intention of the Marquez Khan fight and it got Maidana out of the way and gave free publicity to both fighters.

Well not really. When talking about nationality, it is just American...and this is the case usually when discussing boxing. The difference in your example is that African American is usaully used as a race as opposed to Mexican American as an ethnicity (usually these concepts are conflated though.)
