We hope that Islamic extremists dont take the power in Syria, Egypt etc
Let's remember the Iranian revolution of ‘79, democratic people trusted extreme Islamists who pretended to be their allies and turned out to be just as repressive and corrupt, wearing a mullahs robe rather than a monarch's gown.
At the end democracy left Iran, try not to end up like them, being murdered and tortured and imprisoned even more than under the previous regime.
Iran follows a 1400 year old way to run their government. But democracy is a 3000 year old system with obvious flaws. No country runs a pure democracy they just pick on their enemies for not doing what they don't do.
he is sort of special source. he works abroad in some international trade-union organization that just has ties with two iranian trade-unions. how well does he know the opinions among ordinary members of those trade-unions in Iran? and, btw, are those unions include all workers of the industry or just sort of alternative ones?
i believe that for many people it's not only about Moussavi but about broader issues. still, the question remains how far majority of protesters are ready to go?
Iranian people can only beat the mullahs by following the leadership of the working class. Only a general strike by the oild workers will bring this terrorist government to it's knees.
lets not insult any religion. agreed about dictatorship though.
and i am solidarizing with you about working class whose position may overturn the current iranian regime. bunch of youngsters is not a big threat to the religious system but masses of working people could be.
Let's people of the word know, This Year Iranian will take there freedom back, people are tired of fascist Islamic Mullahs and we are not going to stand still, we fight them til end of time .
We will free Iran and that's the fact. hole world should know This is beginning of the End Of Islamic Regime and maybe Islam itself In Iran.
I will go true fire and melt steel to free Iran. I am spirit of CYRUS THE GREAT, I am the fire Of Zarathustra which clean Iran from all unjust oppressors, i am the tears of oppressed, I am the fist of justices.
AND I WILL FREE IRAN.
No buddy Can stand in our way and we Freedom is ours to take.
The only thing I kiss is the feet of True Patriot of Iran the true Iranian which fight and resist You and your Fascist Islamic regime.
Do you really think You can have whole Brave nation of Iran as hostage? can Torture and kill them for ever ? NO WE ARE HEAR, and we clean Iran from parasites like you which eating the blood of This good people. Iranian always stand against Tyrants and we Carry freedom torch in our hart , just back off or you will be burn in it.
in the netherlands we have a separation of religion and governmental things, Iran would be far better off withouth fundamentalists in it's government, it would really easy relations between iran and the rest of the world
i hope for you and people who stand by your side that you can establish your goals and rid the government of fundamentalists and replace it be good reasnobl people
stefanmplayer: Thank you for your support and nice words, i think it's very clever of your government and people to separate Politic from religion, because history shows every time people mix Religion with politic many innocent people get crushed under brutality of religious clerics which take advantage of there power, Hopefully the people of Iran learn and separate this two matters from each others too.
The reason I asked about evidence that the protests go beyond the election is to get a feel for why Iranians continue to protest. There is way too much focus on what the US media and government thinks. The political institutions in Iran are not democratic. The political culture and laws are just as bad. Are these protests against the electoral system or will this become a referendum on the Iranian system. Protests are against issues - revolutions are against the state.
We are not in a depression. Recession. The unemployment rate is not even above 10%. While the unemployment rate sucks it is still in the recession range.
the US government coup d'etat against Mohammed Mosaddeq was against a democratically elected modern, socialist government- just like against Salvador Allende in Chile. both figures were replaced with capitalist-friendly dictators (Pahlavi and Pinochet).
Are you an ass? First Ahmadinejad is not the leader. Second: The Shah was oppressive you dick. He killed and slaughter many and did not take people who objected to his means. Basically, you said capitalist by that you mean a puppet government for our corporations. This will serve Western companies but the the Iranian people. The point is to serve the Iranian people.
Moussavi is responsible for the deaths of Americans in Beruit and people are making him seem like he is some beacon for democracy. This is propaganda and the Iranian people are too stupid to notice this. This is why they pander to the west to be heard as if the West gives a shit about democracy. Just look at the record.
There is much discontent and frustration over the current regime, it was all a ticking time bomb waiting to go off and it did. No amount of CIA manipulation could pull this off.
Is there evidence and general agreement that the protests have gone beyond the elections? This would be a good situation but wishful thinking and reality are two different things. What do Iranians think about this? I would be interested.
The slogans in all the videos have gone from "Mousavi get our vote back" to "down with the dictator" to "death to Khamenei" and "we are not afraid" in a direct progression. The only constant thread has been Allahu Akbar (also some Allaho Akbar, which I believe translates as God the Great as opposed to God is Great - not sure about that though).
Apologies for any misspelling / translation, I don't speak Farsi and am just accumulating available information.
I believe the Allahu Akbar may be a way to belittle the regime claiming that God is much greater than the mullahs, this was also done in the 70's during the revolution to belittle the Shah who built a cult of personality around.
lol. you are good at making versions! i dare to go on a bit for you.
Of course, their slogan *death to Ahmadinejad* does not mean they want to kill him, it's just a reflection of the depths of their feelings for freedom and human rights.

carlosdavids777 2 years ago
this is a batshit ignorant denial of autonomy and democratic participaction on the part of the iranian people.
the iranian protesters lack weapons; there is no armed resistance (yet).
most importantly, the CIA would never back a democratic movement.
the US ruling class, CIA included, consistently opposes socialist, indigenous and popular pushes.
nailed you.

Iran elections + North Korea + Ah1n1 = USA military and political beneficial
The same empire of all times... with his lies and interventions in other countries... IRAK AFGANISTAN AND NOW IRAN...
the rule requires control of Middle East
regardless of anything or make up things
continue to see on your TV
and thinking about things that are not
carlosdavids777 2 years ago
you did not address what i even said.
yes, US imperialism would likely benefit from the disposition of the present ruling system in Iran.
it would be 'politically beneficial'- but this is not proof of CIA thugs somehow backing the men and women on the streets of Teheran.
