When you pay hundreds of dollars for a phone you shouldn't have to do anything ie use rubber band, scotch tape, bumper ow whatever for that matter to make it work. If it doesn't work on it's own without any tricks IT IS DEFECTIVE.
This is ridiculous. You are bridging the two stainless steel bands with your hands, and using your hand as a shield for those two bands which are the antennas. So unless your scotch tape is as thick as a bumper (it isn't) and covers the length of the left side (it doesn't) your video is wrong.
@bender1011001 oh hell yeah, aside from this its really really awesome... i just did a video with imovie and recently published it on youtube ;) was videos/pictures i took over the weekend and the video came out pretty clear (make sure to change to the 720p if you check it out)... i think the phones that dont have the problem, people are just misunderstanding the issue or how to reproduce it (maybe) cause that would be strange. lemme know what they say for sure! thanks dood

@bender1011001 that is a good idea but i suspect the screen protectors are not meant to stick very well to that type of surface. honestly what would look equally or even more shittier, but would work better and be more long term, is electrical tape.
apple should train their "geniuses" to install full body skins for free and refund any expenses incurred while having to have the iphone4 repaired. then when they remedy the design flaw they should completely replace it with a brand new flaw free otter box cased iphone4...or pay large sums in class action lawsuit that follows.
maybe apple will release some sort of clear elastic band that is very thin to go around the side of the iphone? jesus christ how could they not have foreseen this? the Danish even knew before they did!
