@baldur1377 ooooooooooh... nice find. I've found some weird things in old sleeves but nothing like that. I remember about 2 years ago someone had dumped off a bunch of those 45s that they use for radio promotion, had some old elvis and even a Leadbelly, was a very odd mix.
The first time I heard this song I was at the beach in 1957 and these kids were doing a new dance that looked awful strange at the time>. Later, I found out that they were doing the "Birdland" which became very popular in Washingto, D.C. area .

@IMPORTSOCIETY just curious buddy, where did you get this record? I'm new-ish to old doowop, rock n' roll, and RnB, and would like to build up a vinyll collection. thanks.
@IMPORTSOCIETY Agreed, also, thrift stores. I found an Queen album just last week sighned by the entire band.. well except freddy. But still, 75 cents, can't beat that.
IRON GIANT OH MY GOD I LOVE THAT MOVIE, THE BEST KID MOVIE EVER!!! Sooo much memories. THUMBS UP IF YOU AGREE \m/ oh and between the beatles and the coasters they have always been a huge part of my life!!!
@BarrioPunkRock ive been listening to this music since i was growing up along with pink floyd guns and roses mexican music and i listento the misfits and metallicca iron maiden and all those so your not the only one haha
"Sherlock Holmes," "Samuel Spade," "Sgt. Friday," "Charlie Chan," "Boston Blackie," "Bulldog Drummond," not to mention the "Northwest Mounty" and "Blueberry Hill," make this the most comically allusive song in rock and roll. These relatively sophisticated lyrics by Lieber-Stroller are perfectly set off by the energetic, coarse voice and the back beat. I cannot decide if I like the pops on this recording for their period authenticity or whether I'd like a more pristine presentation.

Very scrathchy record. Maybe a finer grit of sandpaper would have been a better choice for a jacket liner. Thanks anyway for your download. Carry on.

@FatherTimeST1300 ,
so very sorry that my vinyl record does not live up to your standards.
also I would like to thank you for allowing me to "carry on".

The nineteenth song to hit #1 on the Rhythm & Blues charts in the Rock Era. I think Toys 'r' Us used this song in one of their commercials.

Who originally sang this the coasters or the 50s version of the beatles? That aside the coasters and the tokens r probably the best of the 50s
savage642 1 year ago
@savage642 The Coasters were the original, 5-10 years before The Beatles' version.

@savage642 agreed with you then for the 60's number 1 is the beatles number 2 Santana
