  • hello,

today i found a baby bird and have been taking care of it the whole day. this is the first time i found a wild animal and it keeps chirping- is that normal?

  • mine died a few minutes ago because of starvation we fed it ever 20 mins bu it kept taking a crap everytime, then it choked on fod i gave him a small tiny peice of lettuce

  • whitch side do i do it from

  • I have a baby Robin. I feed him Grass-Hoppers and Crickets.

  • i got this one bird that my cat caught, and of course it's injured. i take care of it and now the bird seems like it is attached to me. it didn't even fly away when i bring it outside but it still flying around the house pretty much if you ask me

  • i jus t found 1 in park

  • @DeathscytheHell I've a had a red breasted finch for about 4 days now, and I've been wondering, how can i tell what gender it is?

  • Pretty sure that's a robbin

  • awe so cute i took care of a baby bird and it lived :)

  • @FadilTV put warmed water bottles covered with towels underneath it. dont directly touch the bird with them or it will burn it. keep it out of direct sunlight. look up on the internet for more info. call animal rescue centers. I am facing the same problem and found that info. I can use help as well.

  • last night i found a bird and get it milky bread, it was very livey this morning but sadly it died later on, i musn't have been feeding it right :(

  • @stuart556 milk is not good for birds because it is not a mammal which means thats not part of its natural diet.

  • @stuart556 Soaking wet cat food is the best thing to feed baby birds. Milk is not good for birds, since they aren't mammals so they didn't drink milk from their mothers so it isn't in their diet.

  • @holycrapitstowlie...How often do you feed the kitten food to it? I just found one today and it ate some kitten food but how often do I feed it, I am taking it to the vet tomorrow to give to them but I would like to help it make it thru the night,,so any help?

  • @MissGarland20 I think I fed mine once every 2 or 3 hours.

  • @holycrapitstowlie...Thank You very much, our little guy/girl is doing fine, he/she is eating good and is making a good amount of noises too so it makes me think he/she is not hurt badly, but i dont know for sure, i am dropping him/her off at my local vet tomorrow early morning so i wanna make sure to try and help it live through the night so thanks, any more tips?

  • @MissGarland20 Keep it nice and warm. We kept ours outdoors because it was pretty warm out, and at night we put him in the garage which was warm even through the night. If it's inside, shine a lamp on it so that it get's enough warmth.

  • @holycrapitstowlie...Yeah I've got him/her under a warm light in a small little hamster like cage with vents on the top with a wash cloth in it, he/she has been eating and sleeping some, so I am hoping he/she will make it hrough the night to go to someone who can really help it and set it lose, but thanks so much for getting up with me so soon, i really appreciate it =)

  • @MissGarland20 Hope he makes it. :)

  • @holycrapitstowlie..Thanks =)

  • My baby bird I found died cuz it was to cold.... D:

  • can someone help me i found a lil bird it just hatched i named him/her corn flakes i dont know what to feed it HELP!!

  • i also have that bird i also caught it same :)

  • way too much food, u probably blocked his crop like that, u used a syringe that was way to big, a 1ml syringe would have been plenty!!, cropped birds can be fed 3-4 times daily through gavaging, but non cropped birds like sparrows etc should be fed approx every 6 minutes. I too worked at a wildlife hospital, i took home 53 cages with 80+ baby birds and out of the whole lot i lost 4 birds all from same nest.

  • way too much food, u probably blocked his crop like that, u used a syringe that was way to big, a 1ml syringe would have been plenty!!

  • I think you have may have killed it by overfeeding it. Look at that bulging crop on it's neck. It's HUGE and should NEVER be that big. I volunteer at a wildlife shelter and far too often people try to take matters into their own hands instead of giving the birds to a shelter. They usually end up feeding it too much/incorrectly, and as a result the sparrows die. Even at the shelter, it is hard to estimate how much each baby needs and they also occasionally die here from overfeeding too.

  • What is that thing on it's neck this may be a dumb question but I don't know anything. About birds

  • @warriorfan98 reserch it and as your comment was posted two months ago did it hatch?

  • Awww, you were very kind to try and save it x

I don't know what to do and my mom is stressing herself out trying to take care of them. Any help or advice would be awesome. I don't want to see these little guys die :(

  • help me......i rescued a baby sparrow at 28th April.... i think he is born on 8th April. now his "clown mouth" is going to disapear. but his body is still a little bit small, and his head, too. i want to ask what food do a adult sparrow eat? coz now he like to eat on himself. but if i make him bird food, he don't eat until i add some water on it. help me, why he don't eat dry food?

  • The intent was good...you did what you could for this baby. Take care of nature and nature will take care of you.

  • What is wrong with you? I would hope that you were joking, and even if you were you should still not say that.

  • you should should die for doing that to God's creatures. It is people like you that do not deserve the air you breath. I hope you feel bad for doing that and if not I sure you will burn in hell. I hope birds Peck out your eyes. I HATE you.

  • What an adorable little fluff of cuteness!!! How adorable!!! I want it!!! =) !!!!

  • i found a baby bird two weeks ago and she is so cute, shes a blackbird and her name is 'Gracky' i dont think she'll ever be able to take care of herself in the wild, but ill always be with her to protect her :)

  • I just saved a baby mockingbird about 7 days old & I dont know what to feed it I gave it to my neighbor and Im going to check on it today. I dont want himto die of starvation! plz help!

  • I HAVE THE SAME BIRDS I FOUNS THEM IN THE WILD! they look like thers smiling and i feed them worms

  • so what do u do i found a baby red bird laying in the street plz help

  • my cat found a hatchling from a blackbird, i have since last night and i dont now anything about it....can anyone help ?(sry for my bad english)

  • Umm...go to your nearest pet store and get some baby bird feed. And get the smallest feeding syringe they have possible for a baby bird specifically. And make sure the bird is warm as possible. Like get a heat lamp if you can afford it. :-)

  • I actually, about five minutes ago, found a hatchling. What you have there is somewhere between a hatchling and a fledging, right? The feathers are a giveaway...

But I'm worried my Baby (that's his name) won't make it... I don't know what he is but he's heated and I have food and he's breathing and wiggling, so, cross your fingers!

Do you have any suggestions about taking care of him though? Yours lived for two days- that's an accomplishment I'd like to make...

  • is yours still alive? if so wat type of bird? im raising a baby robin thats mom abandoned it, its brothers died by the time i found them. i know how to raise sparrows, pigeons, and robins so if u still have whatever birdie u have, then ill give u advice if u need?

  • Mine died that very day. I appreciate the offer of advice though. :-D

  • I'm so sorry about your bird... It's really sad that such tiny creatures are so fragile, and so hard to care for...

Mine has died now too... I don't know what went wrong either.

  • No, he made it through the night, and then had a great day, and then he just wouldn't move. :(

  • a cat killed the mother to four little hatchlings in thier nest. I don't want all those babies to die! wat do i do?

  • Just make sure he's always warm and wash your hands thoroughly before and after handling him. I hope he's still with us in this world! :-)

  • a cat killed the mother to four little hatchlings in thier nest. I don't want all those babies to die! wat do i do?

    Is ur baby still alive?

  • ok wrap them up in a towel all of them together and put some rice into a sock and tie the end. nook it until its warm and put it under the towel with birds(itll keep them warm) get some worms outside and a pair of tweasers and when they open their mouths put the worms in. they may not understand that u are trying to feed them so they may not open their beaks, so juss lightly poke their beak and cast a shadow over them (this appears to them as if the mother has come back to feed)

  • how old r they? like do they have pinfeathers? r there eyes open? and yes my birdie is doin gr8! today is his 10th day with me! hes all fat, fluffy, and loud. haha gl and sorry for taking so long to respond

  • my birds r angels! thnx for the edvice u saved their lives! they always open thier mouths! they are only hatchlings. no feathers. they have closed eyes i already named them all! I don't know if they r male or female so i just gave them both boy and girl names. DJ, Tagg, JJ, and Slinky! thnx again!

  • i am really sad to say that my little birdie got out of his nest wile i was at school and strayed ont the top of my stove where he got cot and the metal sucked the heat outa him, when i got home he was near dead but i revived him until he ate almost as much as before. but my time away at school weakened him more and more and 2 days later he took his last breath.

  • it made me sad. I had a baby sparrow that looked just like that and it died because there wasnt a big chance it would make it thru the night. we named it captain jack sparrow.

  • Ha ha ha that's a cute name! I'm sorry yours died on you like mine. R.I.P. little Captain Jack Sparrow. :-)

  • whats that thing on its neck

  • nottin its his throat since his not developed fully u can c through his neck and i guess its the food.....

  • I found a baby bird on the ground. It must have dropped from our roof top. Unfortunately, it is not possible for us to put it back there because it is too high. What should I feed the baby bird? It has no feather yet. There is no animal rehab center where I live. I feel very sorry and terrible for the poor bird until I almost cried. All God's creature should be loved and taken care of.

  • Where do you live? You should take it to a vet and have them find a rehabber. Good luck!

  • Nevermid. *Sniff* my neighbour's cat already eat it. :(

  • lol nice one. My mate j0nti Sh33n@ kills birds and feeds them to wild animals for fun.

  • naw aspiring is the last worry look how overstuff the poor kid's crop is. that yellow balloon thingy is the crop and its overfull.

  • its crop is about to burst! lol

  • wow that's a lot that you fed it in the video. how is it doing now? I have one too, we are at day 12 now and doing pretty well but I don't use syringes because I am afraid of him aspirating his food. How is yours?

  • what do you use to fechick I've found oneed the

  • Go to your local pet shop and see if they have any baby bird feeding formula. Exact baby formula is preferred. And also get a baby bird feeding syringe. If anything, call your local Wildlife rescue group. That would be your best bet.

  • yehh i used baby parrot food 4 my baby robins-they both survived and grew HUGE. u mix 1 lets say 1/4 cup food w/ 1 cup water. the ratio is 1/4

  • it looks like a sparrow yesterday i found one identical to that but it is older and has browm feathers

  • i have 4 baby birds fell out of there nest i really need tips on dat

  • i caught one yesterday what do i feed it

  • caught?

  • i think it might be a blackbird, what with the yellow beak lol

    poor thing

  • R.I.P Sparrow :( :( :(

  • its a sparrow

never feed a sparrow with a syringe

    they are omnivores

meal worms, crickets, soaked weaning pellets by zupreem, soaked dog food pellets, and balls made of baby bird formula that can be swallowed, NEVER SQUIRT ANY LIQUID OR WATERY FOOD IN A WILD BIRDS MOUTH! use a syringe to put drops of water on the tip of his beak and let him swallow them, thats how you get them to drink

  • also, call a wild life rehabilitator right away if you can, these things require a lot of work, most people really dont have the time. They also are prone to infections from unatural feeding methods, and may need medical care. A rehaber would be able to provide that.

  • im taking care of a few baby birds so i have to do alot on my list

  • How did u take care of it cause right now we have a baby bird at m house and it cant talk to let its mom now its gone and we dont know what to feed it. please help! i dont like it when animals die. its heart breaking

  • Baby bird feed. Go to your local pet shop and ask if they have baby bird feed. It should be a type of powder that you mix with water. After following the directions, mix the food with a few live crickets. Birds need the good substances contained in crickets. Mash them in with the food. And don't forget the baby bird feeding syringe. Call your local wildlife rescue ASAP. They can save the bird. Warning: Mine died and others have died whom also asked the same question. Best of luck.

  • thanks that would really help. but the poor thing died last night which really sucks cause it started to cheep and it opened its eyes. but thank u anyway i'll remember it for later. ^_^

  • R.I.P. to your bird. And any more questions, I'll be here. ^_^

  • Well for #1 it was a house finch and you fed it way too much as you can see by the bubble of food in its throat... You feed it a little bit and then when it goes down feed it some more.... But I respect you heart for trying to save him:)

  • Thanks for your kindness. ^_^

  • take them, keep them warm, and feed them and keep them warm!

  • I just found a bird!

  • i had a baby just like that one he didt had that much feather he was more smaller then that the only thing i gave him when he was small was tortillas with water i crush the tortillas with my finger but 1 i wash my hands to give him food and he useto love to fly in the house 1 day he flew out and i was calling him and he flap his wings and came to me oh i miss my bird he was a big bird already he was like a teenager already but one day i found him dead in my room it was my the sofa
