  • A PDC10 is made by a company called UNAV. I bought 1 from them years ago. It does the same thing. Reads the NMEA and converts it to a servo signal for RC servos for UAV airplanes.

    I tried building my own first using a Parallax basic stamp microcontroller and got it to work but my code writing skills aren't enough for it to be smooth. Rudder corrections were jerky with the servo.

  • Way cool!!!! So you just punch in a waypoint or route and enable the pic? I'm working on a smaller version for my canoe but since I don't know programing I'm using a pdc10.

  • @MrGeneralfischer Hello, in the final version i just connected a garmin handheld gps to it and put in a waypoint. Then the garmin gps (or any other navigation gps with nmea out) will output the amount and direction you need to turn to point to the waypoint. And i just listened to that data with the pic. This was a couple of years ago, today there is arduino. I don't know what a pdc10 is..

  • Its controlled på microchip pic, and gps input, no compass. In the video i still have it connected to a computer to finetune the algorythm (pid like). When i was satisfied with the code i programmed the pic with it. So i just hade to feed it with nmea.
