Though this law does fly in the face of the Article 1 section 8 of the constitution, it was legally ratified. Yet another outrageous contradiction by our government.

And a both houses of Congress issued a Joint Resolution by overwhelming majority, authorizing the President, at his discretion, to use US Military forces to invade IRAQ. THIS IS IN FACT A DECLARATION OF WAR. The Constitution requires no specific language to be used when declaring war. When Congress authorizes military action against one certain country it is WAR.

It is certainly true to say that the allied forces (and yes it is allied – for once the US is not going it alone, which has to be a good thing!) have to be VERY careful about how far they allow themselves to become involved in this. The mission should be purely to protect those who would be slaughtered by Gaddafi. Any more general war/occupation/regime change effort would be neither acceptable nor desirable.
I consider myself to be generally against war. However to construe this as a ‘war on Libya’ is misleading at best. It is at most a war on gaddafi who, by definition of the uprising, no longer represents Libya as a whole.
I’m sure oil positioning did play an important part in the decision to intervene but, so long as the intervention also protects those who would be slaughtered by gaddafi, maybe it is an acceptable compromise?

He should be impeached for violating the 5th Amendment. He killed Anwar Al Waki, without due process of law, he wasn't charged with anything. The US could have captured him and gave him a trial, but no Obama didn't feel like and decided to blow up a US citizen. This is very dangerous because it means the president can kill anyone he decides is a threat.

BTW George W Bush sought and gained approval from Congress prior to invading IRAQ, though he did NOT have to have prior approval. And a both houses of Congress issued a Joint Resolution by overwhelming majority, authorizing the President, at his discretion, to use US Military forces to invade IRAQ. THIS IS IN FACT A DECLARATION OF WAR. The Constitution requires no specific language to be used when declaring war. When Congress authorizes military action against one certain country it is WAR.

It is certainly true to say that the allied forces (and yes it is allied – for once the US is not going it alone, which has to be a good thing!) have to be VERY careful about how far they allow themselves to become involved in this. The mission should be purely to protect those who would be slaughtered by Gaddafi. Any more general war/occupation/regime change effort would be neither acceptable nor desirable.

I consider myself to be generally against war. However to construe this as a ‘war on Libya’ is misleading at best. It is at most a war on gaddafi who, by definition of the uprising, no longer represents Libya as a whole.
I’m sure oil positioning did play an important part in the decision to intervene but, so long as the intervention also protects those who would be slaughtered by gaddafi, maybe it is an acceptable compromise?

Bush's reason for going to war was retaliation to bin Laden's attack on us. His reason for going after the Iraqi madman was because of WMD and his reasoning was supported by a majority of the Senate (though the dim bulbed democrats used it against him for political reasons, later)
Personally, I don't think going after bin Laden is an impeachable offense, either for Bush or Obama -- Howerver, Obama's dealings, with the likes of Ghaddafi are.
