I agree that there are candidates that are out there tell you want you want to hear until they are elected. Schiff actually made a point of that. You assume that ALL will tell lies when running for office like Obama, but that's where you're sadly mistaken. There is a very, very small group of people who actually support the constitution. Schiff is in that small minority. He's didn't even want to run, but regular folks like u & me urged him to run. Be skeptical, it's good, but leave room 4 trust

The IMF said Monday that it had sold 200 metric tons of gold to the Reserve Bank of India for $6.7 billion. The sale was part of an ongoing IMF plan aimed at selling over 400 metric tons of gold.

I understand your concerns about donating to a Republican with these positions, as I am also prolife and I don't endorse the gay lifestyle. However, what Peter's position is that he would leave these divisive social issues up to the states to decide, which is what the Constitution says we should do. That means Peter would support overturning roe vs. wade. Even though Peter's has a different position than you, he would not shove his personal beliefs down anyone's throat, its important to know.

The only reason we have issues with gay marriage is b/c we as a society r dependent on government programs and the income tax. Ask urself why marriage is linked to the gov't? Why does the government have to recognize a personal matter that could be handled privately? Marriage is personal. Abortion has to be handled at the state & local level, not the Federal level. People need to learn to live their own lives & work w/ their local government & keep the Fed gov't out. Small gov is key to liberty.

EdMan2012..I agree with you. The problem is that this new federal mandate on health care will pay for abortion with federal tax dollars and will supercede state and local law. There are a lot a people who look at abortion as the antislavery issue of today and taking tax dollars to pay for it could start revolt. I agree that we need stronger states rights but the states are sucking on the federal teets. Maybe Texas will stand up and say no to the feds.

There wouldn't be 4,000 babies killed daily if people in their state & local gov't could decide to illegalize abortion. Most communities would oppose this practice. It's also important that communities who do oppose abortion to work with their local leaders and try to educate the public about the horrors of abortion. Groups like Coalition for Life is a good example of how individuals can counter the gov't subsidized Planned Parenthood. Changing public opinion of abortion is the key to end it.

Not necessarily the same. If you don't believe the fetus is a person, then the person having their property rights being infringed by not allowing abortion is the mother. If you DO beleive the fetus is a person, as many people do, then abortion infringes on the right to life of the person in the mother's womb. Because people on the whole aren't sure "when humans become people" there isn't a cut-and-dry answer across the board for everyone on this issue. Personally, i think all humans are people.
