There are witnesses (Spanish TV crew, UK reporter) who were there and attest to the students retreating peacefully from the Square. Journalists who say they saw events on the Square from the Beijing Hotel are lying -- the hotel doesn't overlook the square. There were casualties on both sides elsewhere in Beijing that day. NO MASSACRE.

You are a contributor to the myth of the "Tian'anmen Square Massacre". You haven't provided any evidence that anyone was killed at Tian'ammen here. There are witnesses (Spanish TV crew, UK reporter) who were there and attest to the students retreating peacefully from the Square. Journalists who say they saw events on the Square from the Beijing Hotel are lying -- the hotel doesn't overlook the square. There were casualties on both sides elsewhere in Beijing that day. NO MASSACRE.

And what better example than the US using democracy as an excuse to invade Iraq, is that what you want?

Yes you are indeed right in some ways, but what about the Vietnam War? I am a Vietnamese myself and I know damn right that we were fighting against communism. The U.S was indeed in it for a cause, which was to exterminate communism.
So in my opinion, there are negatives and positives in attaining freedom and democracy.

Perhaps we should do what all world leaders don't want us to do, become conscientious consumers. Look at the labels when you shop and purchase from regimes that you believe in.

After '89 Tiananmen Massacre (of its own citizens), China was bashed by all the democratic nations and became isolated. Then China requested eargerly Japan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs to ask Japan's Emperor&Empress to visit China to break the situation. Japan accepted and China could join the international society again. But China has started anti-Japan campaign again (sigh).
And now again China is taking advantage of "friendship" with Japan to dodghe severe criticism concerning Tibet!

The world was like millions times better before all of this modern nuclear shit.
