I was considering making a video saying pretty much the same thing... except not on the legality of the bet but rather on it being pretty unethical. There are people in New Orleans who could use some of that money... or in Africa.
Renetto is calling it a bet, and the first couple of guys who put their money where there mouths are also called it a bet. Therefore it's a bet, and is gambling.

it's not just the online gambling bill. these guys were placing bets across state lines, which runs into the commerce clause.
