@NissanTy 08 mugens can bought in the lower 20s now with really low miles. Z cars depreciate very fast as well. The mugen is a more exclusive car so resale is going to be higher. But theres nothing like RWD :)

@ramentasty8 yes. you can if you really want to. Just find a Mugen VIN (go on 8th civic and PM someone who has a Mugen) and you can order whatever you want. IMO Mugen parts are pretty over priced. And if you have your car just look like a mugen but not have all the suspension upgrades thats pretty rice IMO.

To drkid3000, the Civic Si is not faster than the Cobalt SS turbocharged around a track. Just check the Nurburgring lap times: 8:22 Cobalt SS. It is the fastest front wheel drive car with street tires. Megane R26 used racing DOTs. Before you state something, please put in the facts and data and please type correctly as it makes you appear uneducated.
It still doesn't have the double-wishbone suspension we used to get in the EM1 Civic SiR which was what made the old car such a blast to drive, not to mention the old one was 120 kg lighter.
However, even with MacPherson struts, this new car seems to handle rather well.

@drkid3000 This is not true. the new colbat SS was faster around the nurburgring than the 2011 STI. I cant speak on the SRT4, but the mustang 5.0 was .09 seconds slower than the M3 on a road course. the viper ACR and vette ZR1 both beat the ferrari enzo on the nurburgring as well.

@mattgrimesisfat the mugen RR probably does well on the ring. 240bhp in a car that light makes it fly, it's quicker than the s2000 around most courses due to the same horsepower but being easier to drive because of the FWD. they really screwed us by not bringing that one over!
@BlueAvenue22 I'm pretty sure the RR doesn't pass US emissions, so you have to lose some hp to fix that, and then there's the fact that it'd be almost 40K. A lot of us will easily put 10-15K into our Si's, but I have a feeling alot of people who would pay that much for their civic's are more of "built than bought" kind of people.

@SomaComa89 Uh...no it doesn't. It has 556 HP and 551 torque, it's an amazing car that will run circles around anything. A majority of American 4 cylinder cars blow ass such as cobalt and neon. America specializes in diesel, V6 and V8's and America has had and has many great cars. Most American cars today are equal to or better than many imports in terms of quality and reliability. Look at Ford they turned themselves around and have lots of great cars now. Even GM is making gains now.

Cobalt SS Turbocharged actually won this in 2008. My pick for second would go to the Mazdaspeed 3. I know this'll get flamed because a lot of people hate the Cobalt, but the Cobalt was actually keeping with and in some cases pulling the Evo X MR in track tests.
@slurp812 the discontinuation of those cars had nothing to do with how good they were. i mean, they got replaced with the cruze for God's sake! people kept whining about how the dashboard felt too plasticky, that's the only reason. the ss models just weren't enough to keep the platform popular enough since most people who bought the cobalt wanted a grocery getter.

And this car is Ford Focus RS ( the one they sell in Europe).I personally have 2008 si, and if they would bring that rs to US, I would switch the car. si and mugen is about the same cars: same power, little bit different tips, and mugen budges on the car.

@0SpyderScope it is slow, torque steer isnt a problem because it has no torque lol, the tranny breaks very easily & the internals suck (unless you plan to leave it stock) other than that its alright

Cobalt SS Turbocharged actually won this in 2008. My pick for second would go to the Mazdaspeed 3. I know this'll get flamed because a lot of people hate the Cobalt, but the Cobalt was actually keeping with and in some cases pulling the Evo X MR in track tests.

@slurp812 the discontinuation of those cars had nothing to do with how good they were. i mean, they got replaced with the cruze for God's sake! people kept whining about how the dashboard felt too plasticky, that's the only reason. the ss models just weren't enough to keep the platform popular enough since most people who bought the cobalt wanted a grocery getter.
