Aww what happen to the part when she stood over the piano and song to Marty (jack lemmon) that was the best part of the song because it was addressed to him. Also is the other song from the movie I've Gotta Crush On You on here I like that song as well.
I love Betty Grable's 'tribute' here to Marilyn's 'Heatwave' This musical, Three For The Show' is one of my favorites. Betty looks and sounds great, and Jean Louis' costumes are incredible. The dancing boys in this number are particularly camp.
Like others who've already commented, I note that Betty's performance of the first part of this song really sounds like all the other blondes who sort of replaced her in the '50s: Marilyn Monroe, Jayne Mansfield, Sheree North, etc.
Betty strutting her stuff beautifully in her last big screen production number in a film musical. Rumor has it that after seeing this, Goldwyn was ready to snatch her up to play Adelaide in GUYS & DOLLS later that same year (1955). Grable had BEGGED for that role for years! But when she cancelled the meeting with Goldwyn to rush her pet dog to the vet when it broke its paw, Goldwyn refused to sign her in a fit of rage. Very sad. Betty would have been perfect, and her career could have continued.
THis is Betty having a bit of fun at Marilyn's expense. Monroe usurped Grable at Fox, after "How To Marry a Millionaire." Betty was a great sport about it, but here she is, choreographed by Jack Cole, in a "Heat Wave" type number, spoofing MM''s style and, looking, frankly, better--bodywise--than MM. Slimmer, trimmer. Also, Betty could really dance. So, it's like, "I'll show you, honey!" And she did. Betty was entitled to her little revenge. Fox did her wrong.
Betty Grable's last musical made in 1955, this was dance was directed by jack cole who also did monroes "heatwave" number. Betty looked fabulous at 39 no age these days but pushing the glamour in 1950's times.
I love this film! Betty Grable looks fabulous and Jack Lemmon is as cute as ever. Wonderful musical numbers too - including this one, which also reminds me of Marilyn Monroe's "Heatwave".
this ballet reminds me of heat wave with Marilyn very similar Jack Cole's choregrahy

@aVeryStylishGirl2 : Yes, Jack Cole knew exactly how to show off those chorus boys - skin-tight white pants! :-)
