well you know even if SC didnt get Manti, they still got talented players, 3 deep in every position.. Not to mention the level of coaching talent that is the SC team.. I like him, but at outside linebacker. His speed is favorable and tackling skills are unique. I like him more on the outside because of his agility and high octane motor that he uses to get to the QB. Has better overall intangibles and understanding of the game than most LBs coming out of high school. I like him more than Jelani Jenkins, but I dont agree with Manti being higher rated than Vontaze Burfict. While Manti will become great, he does not have the raw physical skill that Burfict has.
i've got to be honest here. I've seen all of Manti's highlights and I've seen Vontaze play in person a few times. Burfict is the best middle linbacker out there. I think Te'o is the best OLB. His skills are more suited for the outside. He was a step behind on plays in the under armour game. had he been on the outside, i think he would've made way more plays. It's not just about tackles. It's about awareness and pursuit, as well as pass coverage and reading the offense.
When you're making assists to tackles, you are reading plays, and that's a damn good thing.

laboy was born in hawaii and came back to play there.
kahuku high school is a public school and has the most active NFL players out of any. te'o went to kahuku high for a year but finished at punahou school, but he's from kahuku high's district.
of course CA, TX and FL have more, HI is small but per capita very good. punahou beat a couple mainland teams recently.

Jon Tenuta said Manti is the best defensive player hes seen in the last twenty years...Manti can play in the middle and outside, Burfict is great also, perfect MLB but he cant play on the outside as well as inside, Manti can. Manti was USC's #1 defensive commit, not Burfict. That makes two years in a row ND has taken USCs#1 D recruit (last year was Ethan Johnson). We got Chris Martin already for 2010, LB, USCs #1 D recruit for this class too. I feel a shift of power coming in the next 2 years.

well you know even if SC didnt get Manti, they still got talented players, 3 deep in every position.. Not to mention the level of coaching talent that is the SC team.. You can get all the talent you want, but if you dont know how to use em' effectively it will be a waste.. Hopefully, ND can utilize Manti's skills to the fulliest.. If ND can get 3 players deep at every position like SC, then just maybe their might be a shift in power.. But I doubt that will happen anytime soon..

I like him, but at outside linebacker. His speed is favorable and tackling skills are unique. I like him more on the outside because of his agility and high octane motor that he uses to get to the QB. Has better overall intangibles and understanding of the game than most LBs coming out of high school. I like him more than Jelani Jenkins, but I dont agree with Manti being higher rated than Vontaze Burfict. While Manti will become great, he does not have the raw physical skill that Burfict has.

i've got to be honest here. I've seen all of Manti's highlights and I've seen Vontaze play in person a few times. Burfict is the best middle linbacker out there. I think Te'o is the best OLB. His skills are more suited for the outside. He was a step behind on plays in the under armour game. had he been on the outside, i think he would've made way more plays. I can't believe we lost both of them.
