  • It says "offer gone" in lyrics what does that mean?

  • @karlalouiseoneil2- I looked at the lyrics and made some adjustments. I just copied the previous set of lyrics from online- these corrected lyrics I made after listening to the song! Thanks for bringing that to my attention! Ron

  • It says "offer gone" in lyrics what does that mean?

  • This song popped into my head this morning for no particular reason. They never play it on oldies stationsanymore but I had to hear it. I should have known you had already posted it. TY

  • does anybody know if this piece of music was used for a TV show intro? sounds so familiar ..

  • Im sorry. This version is much better than Marmalade's. Robs voice carries this

song, and he always put so much feeling in it! Flat? No way. There was nobody

better than Rob and the Grass Roots. Remember you always!! Thank you for

posting so many good songs. Charlene

  • @u2dvdbonofunny - you are very welcome Charlene!

  • This sounds like the demo for The Marmalade version...but then I suppose that's why their version did better ;-()

  • Rob Grill

  • Isn't it amazing that this tinny, mono song sounds a billion times better then any of the "studio" formulaic crap that is played nowadays. Even with all the techno bells and whistles available good music from the 60's outshines almost all of them. Good job, Grass Roots. I will always love this song!

  • Artie Schroek, one of the writers of this song, was an arranger for both Neil Diamond and the Lovin' Spoonful (among many others). This arrangement is cross between the two. I grew up on the string heavy Petula Clark version, which contained the awkward phrasing, "I've become a new and happy WO-man".

  • I prefer hearing the Grassroots sing this...I find Rob and Warrens voices so ' pure'..and so ' listenable'. THANK YOU.

  • oh, just found it out. It's 69....

  • which year is this from? 1972?

  • Sorry - don't agree

With respect, the vocals & woodwind are flat as a pancake - don't know how on earth it got thru!

The Marmalade version is far superior - the Grass R's arrangement is almost a note for note copy of the Marm original ( only flat)

  • better than marmalade ,better voice,i love you

  • @22clodius- you are welcome- I love you too greetings from the U.S.A. ! Ron

  • I like this version too Ron... very good...thanks for this one..5****** Sara xx
