Everybody knows a Ferrari breaks down regularly like all Italian products, and what I remember you have to pull the engine out to replace the spark plugs, such thing make it expensive.

If you think a Ferarri engine is about reliability and cheapness, then I think you missed the point of it.

As for how easy they are to work on, it sure changes depending on the model, some are worse than others. That said, I don't think I have ever had my hands on anything more difficult to work on than a Citroen DS ... now there was a car with difficult to reach stuff.

Well, they are not the only car maker offereing 7 years warranty ( Kia ) if they do that. People there buy Ferrari got the money, and they don't drive the mileage, as most daily used cars. in many cases it's a piece of show off.

As previously stated, I too agree that this is a work of art. Many manufacturers produce just as reliable equipment, but how would you track down the factory tech responsible for a mishap at Ford or Nissan? It's easy with Ferrari. From start to finish with one highly skilled tech who loves his machines? You pay for devotion to precision and a real masterpiece. I say well done Ferrari, no matter how fast it is or isn't. ;)

The W12 is in the Continental, the Flying Spur, the Audi A8-L, The Spyker C12 / Zagato, the VW Touareg, and the VW Phaeton.

Aston martin has some issues with their engines as well as Lamborghini, but before it was owned by audi it had overheating problems. The most reliable must be a Merc, the best sounding would be a Ferrari and a BMW. As for wolksvagen, its just not a common feauture in their cars, its a VW and they make cars for the genral public. The ferrari is the most unique due to its pure racing and performance history, it has more soul

@Raptorx007 that was a very tangible and well thought out comment! good on yeh! I think the naturally aspirated V12's AMG shells out are pretty wicked. Pagani have demonstrated them well, as did the CLK GTR obviously. the ///M division has been rather noticeable as well with the fine examples built for McLaren. Ferrari has really made it their staple crown jewel though haven't they? Excellent point.

I have to agree with you, AMG makes some absolute beastsly v12's, and then they *carefully* hide them away under a bonnet so you won't notice it until you're nothing but a spec in it's rear view mirror, thinking "what just happened?". :D

Their v8's aren't anything to sneeze at either.

Too bad that Jaguar stopped making V12 engines. I once had the priveledge of riding shotgun in a Lister Storm that had the 7 liter, 700 HP, Jaguar v12 in it. Talk about fury barely contained.
