The same thing happened to me: "motherboard died twice (replaced under warranty) but third time they wouldn't help me, and the issue is known and covered by a "Limited Warranty Service Enhancement" listed on their website. Only reason it would suck is because you have vista.. I installed windows 7 on mine and it runs perfect and i slight bit fast startup time then wibdows vista. Dvd drive and audio kept goin out with vista. Vista makes pc look bad but its deff not the pc, its the OS.

you can buy any video card, well the ocmputer looks very slim, maybe grab a sapphire 4670 1gb gddr3 or a PNY 9800GT EE edition, or just grab a diamond 4670.

If you want to install XP, (I am not the only one), you can`t do it because there are not drivers, exept for the expansion card, then you are chained to windows garbagist.

But I have to tell that linus have not problem with the drivers, Opensuse, fedora, Slackware and Puppy linux can use all the devices, including the nvidia geforce and the wireless without problem

but IF YOU ARE THINKNG IN BUY A COMPUTER LOOK FOR OTHER OPTIONS WITH MORE SUPPORT.

That computer sucks, is not true, that think can`t run all your video games, sims 3 runs like an artritic turtle, besides, you can`t run assessins creed.

The multimedia center can`t run any dvd, the tv signal doesn`t work, I only recieve static.

But is not only about third part software, that think haves a motherboard made by ASUS, exclusively for HP, you can find drivers only in HP web page because ASUS gives no support, besides, HP have only drivers for Windows vista or 7, not for xp

I don't know about the original antenna, but you can pick up a D-link 7dBi omni directional wireless G antenna and base stand at Office Depot that should be able to connect to the slimline's wireless port via a cable.

i took out the asus tv tuner and existing 9300GE and the hp pocket media drive bay. then put in the gtx 260, but ive got a driver problem so its not quite done yet. soon ill have a monster!

Umm yeah...so, which power supply did you upgrade to? The slimlines PSU can't handle the GTX260. Heck, it can't even handle a 9600GT! Also, how did you fit a full size card in the low profile computer? That would be an amazing setup if you did manage to pull that off.

it turns out it was a psu problem you see, it couldnt handle the gtx 260 core 216. so i managed to get that back on warranty for a 9800gtx however the 9300GS was done on 55nm and the 9800gtx was 45nm. the cpu was also the same and now it's working crysis @ 1024x768 whoo hoo!!

Thanks, The monitor turned out to be bigger than the unit, laying the monitor on it made it look a little ackward, anyway, still I guess there are monitors out there that would be just perfect for this tower due to the size of it. I'm just one of those people who like the 'old school' style computers.

Probably not. It's possible, but methinks with the vents on the side, putting the montior on top would restrict what little airflow there is inside these computers.

yes the slimelines are much better than buying a monster pc, I mean I can put in a new card on my s3720f and it will run most games at good settings. Why spend a million bucks on a gaming pc, DVR, and most appliances when this little shit can do it all. Everyone knows when you move all the clutter and are having a good time on your big 42' you would normally used your consoles on, that it would be better to use a slimline via HDMI. media, medium/high res gaming, non-stop fun I love mine.

It needs a PSU upgrade. The onboard PSU is really weak...something like 160 watts. Do that, then take out the 9500GS and add a sparkle low profile 9800GT and you're set. The hardforum is great resource area for the HP slimlines. =]
