A lot of compositions by Yoko Kanno sample famous older compositions. I don't necessarily mind that and I apparently love her for redefining music into her own form.

What bothers me though is that Sakamoto Maaya is in A LOT of Yoko Kanno's music.

Macross Frontier is a must watch series for anime/mecha fans. The series will blow you away with great visual quality, intense action, great storyline that touches the first Macross, and scenes complemented by great music fitting for each episode.

My favorite, episode 20 which is a sad for reason that shouldnt be spoiled and also amplified by the music "Diamond Crevasse" by May'n.

No, it's not like Evangelion. As for romance, I'm not sure whether you meant to say that it HAS romance or it DOESN'T have romance, so I'm not quite sure how to respond to that. I will say that Macross Frontier does have a love triangle at the center of the story, and love and relationships are an important part of the development of other characters as well, but the whole thing is really well done, and really sweet. It's really a great show, better than Evangelion, IMO.

This anime kicks Evangelion's ass! I'm sorry, I know NGE is a classic, but it just didn't seem as epic as this. Also, the evas aren't mechs. They're biologically cloned angels wearing armor plating.

obviously you only watch anime for the action. Eva was psychological and depressing so i guess thats why i like it... the fact that its so fucked up and self loathing. But there ARE new Eva movies coming out so you cant say anything yet

Don't judge too quickly. I never said that I didn't like NGE. I just think it is over rated. Btw, If you're talking about "Rebuild" I alread watched one of the new movies. It's basically a recap of the series with new art. The eva's look awesome...

I thought Le Portrait De Petite Cossette was pretty depressing and messed up, and I loved it. I like more than just action anime. Try H20: Footsteps in the sand. Also, Play Tsukihime (don't watch it, play the game.) Much better than NGE story wise.

yeah so pretty much Macross 7 was the absolute worst Macross anime in the entire series. Nobody cares about just singing in a mech anime. Maybe songs in mech anime while there are some good fight scenes but not songs alone. Frontier is sick wit it!
