  • Heavens to Chiles French! I faintly recall this short lived NBC show from the early 70's. I always enjoyed the performances of the late great Sebastian Cabot. He left us MUCH too soon! THANKS for posting this delightful "blast from the past"!

  • They need to release this on dvd.

  • who thought of this show? was of true stories? why did it not last?

  • I love this show...it's too bad its not available on DVD!

  • What, no part 2? AHHH!

Also, "that's when he get's to eat."

    "oh, that's terrible!"

    I don't get it..

  • I have been talking about this series for years! I loved this as a kid, not much scary stuff on tv back then, Night Gallery, & The Night Stalker come to mind, but these have never reapeared on tv sense. Started to think I imagined the show until now, thanks so much for posting this! (Is anyone aware if this is available on DVD?)

  • I wish somebody would post some episodes of this show!!!

  • "The mind of man rests on a delicate balance between

reality, the world of light, and the other darker world

below the threshold of consciousness... and it is from this

world of darkness which comes the evil destructive forces in

    man's nature."

    Anybody heard this b4? ^^

I want to know where it is from :P

  • Guest star Helen Hayes. Oscar winner and mother of the late James MacArthur.

  • Sebastian Cabot. He was the actor who played Mr. French on Family Affair.

  • sounds sorta like TORMENTED but that may be too old

  • Yes, I've been tormented for many years not knowing ! Is "Tormented" a movie or TV series episode ? It might be old. I watched it as a kid back in the 70's, but it could have been made prior. I have never seen it since.

  • I LOVED this series as a kid. Question? I recall a supernatural movie or series episode where there is an ocean front house, a couple argue, she falls over the balcony, clings on, the husband ignores her and she falls to her death (body missing). She comes back to haunt him and finally her apparition scares him over the same balcony and he falls to his death. The final scene shows both bodies washed up together and her hand rolls over and clasps his body in ghostly revenge. Can anyone help ?

  • Alter Ego was the best episode.

Too bad Ghost Story did not last longer.

  • There was this one episode where this deputy in the Everglades killed his nagging wife and drifter who discovered her body. The deputy buried them in his shed and then went inside, turned on the tv and saw them rising from the grave.

Scared the hell out of me, back then.

  • Ah yes airdriver I remember that one most of all. Scared the hell out of me too!

  • I recall seeing this series as a very little kid. I vaguely remember an episode about a couple passing through a small town in Las Vegas (?) and at the end of the show they find their own dead bodies in the wreckage of a car crash out on the highway. I'd love to see that again! I know it creeped my little 8 year old mind out!

  • "Ghost Story" was later retitled "Circle of Fear."

  • does any one remember the episode 'the concrete captain'?

  • Yes, I remember it. It was with Stuart Whitman.

This TV shows bring me great memories, and nightmares when was a kid.

I`m 43 years old and remember very well.

    Regards.

  • I wish somebody would put the entire pilot episode on youtube. It was called 'The new house' and remains one of the spookiest things I've ever seen.

  • For me this was one of the best series of made terror already in years 70 although the short series, marked my life very. e I remember almost all the episodeis. it would be possible to attend some of them entirely

  • I recall 2 episodes best. but mostly the one from Nov 11,72 where Melvyn Douglas is a grampa visiting his grandaughter Julie & they had a housekeeper Mrs Rule. They made cookies & each family member had their own cookie named after them. Voodoo Curse. Gramps came back for Julies bday & for vengeance on the father. Julies mother died in childbirth and he blamed Julies father. That one scared me, if anyone knows the episode it was and where I can get it, Help!

  • House of Evil! Great episode, one of the best. Jodie Foster was the little girl, Richard Mulligan was her father.

  • Thanks friends. The wooden horse episode was titled "Dark Vengeance" (1972). I would love to see it again... obviously, it made an impression on all of us after +36 years. Must have been a great.

  • David Soul also starred in one of the episodes of this series wherein he was a ghost .

  • "The Phantom of Herald Square" Very good, creepy episode. The series finale, unfortunately.

  • . . yeah, thats it. :-)

  • If you know the title of the wooden horse episode, I can probably find it.

  • @chuckvoodoo the name of the Circle of Fear episode with that spooky wooden horse was Dark Vengeance, someone else posted it here, but it got yanked off. It starred Martin Sheen and Kim Darby (the girl from the film True Grit) as the husband and wife terrorized by that evil little toy horse - I saw it when it first came on tv, man! It gave me nightmares.

  • Does anyone recall the episode of the dream of the giant wooden horse. I couldn't go to sleep for months after I saw that show. Don't know whether this episode was from ghost story or circle of fear.

  • yes it did scare the crap out of me when I was a kid, but what is scarier now is that I'm the same age as Sebastion Cabot !!!!!!!!!
