  • hey the girl thats doing the paint pouring. whats your number?

  • im guessing its some sort of plastic resin?

  • those pants are knarly

  • where can i get models like that and what type of paint is best??

  • where do you get the models? and what type of paint is good to use?

  • My god, why is everyone in the vid so serious?

  • The paint is enamel. I could almost smell the fumes lol

  • @JobAbednego On Rower's website it says he's used acrylic

  • 0:45 - SO beautiful!

  • its prolly actually really think paint, because this is time-lapsed.

  • i like their mom jeans

  • i call this beautiful art. you see something in between the colors that all match and contrasts each other. just beautiful. and what type of paint did you use? i'd like to try this (:

  • And then someone accidentally steps in it.

  • lol I wonder how long it takes to dry.

  • i Call It " WASTE"

  • My guess is house paint. Or a water based poster paint. Something like that

  • jaw-droppingly good ! it was great to see this - thanks very much for posting this

  • I think he used PVA glue mixed with colour paint and a little water.

  • Awesome! I love it! ♥

  • I'm loving the music! where it is from?

  • what kind of wall-colors do they use ?

  • what an incredible amount of paint you used! :O it's awesome!

  • oh my god, seeing this video for some reason was like a memory, even though i'd never seen it before, it made me think of when i was young and watching fantasia, and while i was watching the paint spread out into amaziing shapes and colors, i was seeing colorful unicorns and pegasuses swimming in a lake of colors.

    its absolutely briliant.

  • @TheSnakThatSmilesBak wow, now that you mention it, i realize it made me think of fantasia too. i didn't even know what it was reminding me of, but that's definitely it

  • I'm sharing these videos with lots of people who can appreciate it :)

they all loved it, like me :D

    great job! it's just amazing

  • wow, ke chevereeeeeeee... bravazoooooooooo........

  • cool

  • beautiful<3

  • I would like to see a hexagon or octagon shaped pedestal

  • Mmm bravo !

  • How would this work on plywood (without) pedestal....to hang?

  • relevant to my interests

  • wonderful.

  • It's acrylic on plywood as written in his official website..

  • What kind of paint ?

  • what paint?

  • hmmm....then what is it?

  • Um, so everyone wants to know what kind of paint is used for this piece.

My guess is it's watered/thinned out acrylic to make it less viscous.

  • @EASpaceJam nope

  • @RaveLikeDave

    house paint of some sort?

How long do these take to dry? like a week?

  • @RaveLikeDave Then what?

  • @RaveLikeDave I'm guessing melted crayons.

  • @RaveLikeDave wow what a wonderful answer! thanks!!

  • @RaveLikeDave House paint? That'd be the easiest way to get the variety of colors and tones. Plus more economical than artist's acrylic.... And you'd get that nice gloss. I really love this art!

  • @RaveLikeDave

kind of a douchebag reply no? Just saying "nope"? How about you actually say what's used then? Lame

  • @EASpaceJam Colored Glue...

  • @EASpaceJam it cannot be acrylic because of the way the colors are able to separate themselves from the other colors without even overlapping. check out at 1:25 how the white drips down.

And i just want to say that I hope you are right and I am wrong, because this is something i would love to try to do a version of in my paintings.

  • @MrArtarjun On Holton's site, he lists the materials used in these pieces as "plywood and acrylic"

  • is that Philip Glass?? the composer of the music? it definately sounds like him...

  • they must do a lot of acid or shrooms O_o

  • @bingbingmmMapple this is an insult to the artist, as if drugs made you more creative!

  • I like when people do brilliant things like this simply for the sake of them being brilliant.

  • @KassieHasTooMuchTime Sure, it's cool, but it's not "BRILLIANT." All they are doing is pouring paint on a wooden box. @_@ Sure, it looks really cool in the end, but that really doesn't require a whole lot of talent. o.O

  • @delshayDiCamilliano Hahaha, fair enough. I don't know...It's one of things where people are all 'Lol watevea I could have done that myself if I wanted to', but like...They didn't.

So I guess as lovely as it looks, it's also kind of brilliant because someone had an odd idea and they went through with it and I think that's wonderful. ~ramblerambleramble

  • @KassieHasTooMuchTime Yeah, I get what you're saying. Let's just hope and pray it doesn't hit the hipsters for a while.

  • @delshayDiCamilliano Google Holton Rower's site, click Gallery, then Sculpture, then Money, and prepare to be humbled. This really is brilliant art.

  • @delshayDiCamilliano Plenty of awesome things take no talent to make...how about life? Lol.

  • Waste of paint...

  • what kind of paint do you use?

  • @monlaaslur as, monlaaslur, I want too to know what kind of paint do you use. this is just like a colour-wonderland and I need to know and try it myself. so pretty please enlight me. <3

  • i really want try this!!! =)

  • Sollte ich mal irgendwann in meinem Leben zu viel Geld haben, mach ich auch sowas und häng's mir in mein Zimmer! :)

    sehr cool!

  • great work !

  • Hey Dave, congrats on the feature! These remind me of some psychedelic posters i had as a kid. Oddly enough i could tell this was your video work without seeing the credit at the end. What sort of camera did you use? 7d or something? ANYWAY awesome editing and photography ;)

  • @LeeMIlby Thanks Lee! i used an HPX-170 with a 35mm adapter, and a crappy little HF-20. the next one im doing is on a 5d MK II!

  • @RaveLikeDave

Wow good work with that OMG on an hf-20??? VERY impressive. The 5D, I've never had the pleasure of using one myself, but i've heard conflicting reviews. Some love it, some hate on it......lemme know your take when the project is up!!

  • Like the process more~

  • shoulda put MGMT for the music woulda made it sooo much better

  • Gorgeous!

  • THIS IS SO F****** AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • AWESOME!!!!

you guys could maybe try some different objects to pour the paint on, like big balls or triangles...:D

  • what kind of paint are you using?

  • is there a website for these artists?

  • This is so beautiful and psychedelic.
