just bought the silver ones with 500gb few weeks ago..it's great..if you're transfering large files, i can say it's actually fast..what's great is that it came with the seagate manager that is already in the hard drive, but i don't really use them, but the gave me only 6 months warranty :(

I got a blue 320gb version for $60 at walmart, then formatted it to mac extended (journaled). It is very fast and copied a 24gb file in less than 30 minutes, for me thats awesome!

I was looking at this but my dad was real nice hey gave me a hard drive at his work that they didn't need, it was either this one or the i just got :) I got the Western digital drive also in 160GB for free :) but i would love to buy a Seagate but yeah

I hate Seagate HD. Mine just crashed for no reason and i lost all my data. Plus Seagate customer Service is Crap!! Highly not reccommended.

@speedracerzero You'll get smaller numbers when you plug your hdd in because the number of space they tell you on the box is in Base 10 while the number your computer reads is Base 2. Base 2 units are bigger so less of them can fit into a equal number of Base 10 units. So your hdd is still using all the hdd, it's just calculating it differently. Like Celsius and Ferinheight, you still fell the same temperature but it's calculated differently.

i was going to get one of those but there $200 here in australia so i got a seagate portable external harddrive 250gb for $89.00.

One bad thing to share. It does not work with long usb extension cords. It only means that it requires more power. I have tried mine on the other computer with a USB extension cord and it failed to run. I hear clicking sounds which means low power (according to my research). I tried my friend's Seagate Portable on that same computer. Luckily that drive worked. One thing more, this drive has an optional docking station with two USB cord, supporting my theory that it requires more power.
