No one is getting money for "stealing" someone's child. ESPECIALLY we people that adopt special needs children through the foster care system. While I would like to say that $13K+ is going to be fun money to have a fun time with... it won't be. It's money that we will pour back into our children to enrich their futures and do things like make repairs to out home where in emotional rages they have destroyed things. Believe me... I love my kids, but they came at a much higher "cost" than 13K
Yes they are--hand over fist. Look at what happened to John Wyatt and the Missouri man Craig Lentz. If you file a false adoption you committed fraud and you don't deserve this money. But I am sure that like all people that rip off the USA you will lie about it and get furious when confronted on it. Just like the crooks on Wall Street, only they are way better than you. The Wall Street crowd is stealing money, people that file false adoption steal peoples children.
If that is all true you deserve help, but people who file false adoptions to take children from parents that want them--like what happened to John Wyatt and the Missouri man Craig Lentz, should not get this money. This law will even give this money to people who file false adoptions that fail because they were illegal--that is what happened to the Missouri man and it's just plain wrong.
I guess I'm missing something. I have "adopted" (if that's how you want to put it) 3 children & have 2 bio ones through foster care. 2 of the 3 are special needs because they have FASD & one has MR &severe attachment issues because of being stuck in the system waiting for her bio parents to terminate rights & someone that had the money to sign up for a child that will never be able to bond or live on her own. The money is not "rolling in" her behavior caused my DH to take 2 days off this week.
@97karenlacey Especially considering that this economic downturn is leading to people giving up their children when they otherwise would have kept them. I keep seeing stories about mothers who already have kids, sometimes even teenaged children and they still "make an adoption plan." This is heartbreaking. Take my freaking home but dammit, help me keep my kids.
