  • they should also mention: "in case of engine falling off prepare to roll over and die"

"in case of aft cargo door falling off prepare to an explosive decompression and eventually die"

"in case of fan disk explosion prepare to an emergency landing with conseguent fire"

  • Monotone Narrator

  • Aloha Airlines is by far the best airline. ( in my opinion ) :)

  • 1:17 Busted

  • its silly in the ones infront of youu!!

  • 1980's? Look at that laptop @ 1:40! I looks more like early 2000's.

The rest of the video does look 80's, but from what I've seen, computers didn't look like that when Michael Jackson was still black.

  • @SecretService80 This is 1999!

  • 1:19 busted xD

  • 4:26 dinosaur phone

  • when was this maid 1980's

  • What happens when you dont need the oxygen masks any more, do you have to sit there with it hanging in front of you or something? :)

  • @DanDaviesTV proably

  • Those bins are diffrent

  • Phone where all I saw was a house brick is it a wepon is is gonna use

  • Does anyone still remember when they gave out playing cards? I always flew with Hawaiian to american samoa when I was little. Those cards were fun.

  • that "cell" phone could NOT be any older!!

  • At 2:07 the passengers are like WTF?!?!!! and are like havin a heart attack!!

  • 2:08 I bet the guy is thinking, " Are these people trying to give me a heart attack?"

  • 1:53 this cellphone xD

  • Nice Outfit Flight Attendant! and funny how low budget this commercial is!

    Love it

  • Ahhhhh I miss Hawaiian DC-10's. Bring back da days....HANA HOU!!!!!

  • where do u find texts for the demos?

  • I remember flying on a DC-10 with Hawaiian a long time ago, that flight was the quitest and most comfortable. For some reason we ended up flying with NWA up until they were acquired though.

  • The guy got startled when the oxygen mask dropped outta the ceiling. If you really want to see people be scared shitless by the oxygen masks, watch the lufthansa vid from the 80's.

  • Is that Chris Elliott at 2:11?

  • "the air pressure in the cabin is controlled for your comfort"

the forgot to add "and for your live"...

    Anyway Nice Video!

  • LOL at the oxygen masks. i'll be flying for the first time in a few weeks so this info was very useful

  • hey wat airline are u flying cause im a pilot for united and dont worry if it is a nice day or not im sur that the pilots are experinced after you are back tell me how it went and dont worry have a safe trip

  • really? thats awesome! and Thank You!! i'll be flying on southwest airlines! im not as nervous as i was, after watching a ton of vids on here. it should be an awesome experiance! :)

  • its funny when the oxygen masks appear then the all get startled

  • Please be advised that the cargo door is likely to leave us during flight, there is no need for concern as the nearest exit may be behind you, just look for the hole in floor and the missing rows.

  • add for Hawaiian DC-10 Music in D-Flat Music

  • the dc-10 has a really poor safety record, but it still looks like a nice plane.

  • The DC-10 had a poor safety record because the plane had design flaws; the cargo door fault lead to the AA incident in Detroit and the Turkish crash in France.

After the flaw was fixed, the DC-10 was fine.

  • ok i didn't know that. thanks!

  • I use to see them at the airports. They did look nice. Kind of miss them now.

  • @illinoisboyinchi i think it was actually a peice of dc-10 on the runway that caused concorde to crash still good lookin plane

  • @illinoisboyinchi yes but this got fixed a LOOOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNGGGGGGGG time ago. so they are safe to fly and still fly today.

  • I LMAOd when the oxygen masks fell down. I love seeing people when theyre scared. LOL

  • Gosh I remember the dc-10! I flew one in 1998 on my first trip to Honolulu. 1998 - those were the times!

  • 2:07

They're so startled by the oxygen masks. Hilarious!

  • one of the worst, planes in the world.

  • When the cargo door flaw existed, it was one of the worst.

  • trying hard airlines:|

  • why it looks to old!??

  • what year was this taken?? The phone at 1:51 is old! lol just kidding, I'm going to Hawaii in June on this airline

  • ho brah Hawaiian airlines no use da DC-10's anymore! i miss seeing dem fly wit da DC-10's. dakine was replaced by da 767 in 2001

  • what year was the video made?

  • Cool. i remember watching this on the 'charter' flight Anchorage-Honolulu. that was the last time i flew on the DC-10.

  • Why the oxygen system is different at hawaiian airlines?XD OMG i flight so often and i've never seen oxygen masks in front of me...just above me...

  • It's an older plane, DC-10s.

Hawaiian retired them in 2001 and now have Boeing 767s, which don't have the oxygen masks placed in the seat because they realized it wasn't a good idea because in a crash the seats can be damaged

  • Mc, I don't think that's the reason why the airline replaced the planes.

Plus a crash usually does not happen before a period when a passenger needs to use an oxygen mask.

  • Its Dangerous Because The Oxygen Cylinders Heat Up The Seat Backs So If A Person Has To Adapt To The Brace Position They'd Get Burned.

  • I LOVE THIS VIDEO

  • The voice is pretty boring, but it is a good video.

  • Dc-10's are cool but they did crash a lot, part of the reason is because DC-10's have three engines which is different from normal 2 or 4 engine aircraft. But Hawaiian airlines did renew all of there aircraft about 9 years ago, and currently they are buying 6 Airbus 350's and 6 A330's to replace their B767 fleet

  • They're actually not getting rid of the 767s, they're going to use A330s for flights from the east coast, and the A350's from cities in Europe, like London and Paris, and Asia, Hong Kong and Singapore.

The 767's will still be used on West Coast flights from cities like, LA, Los Vegas, San Francisco, and San Diego.

I wish they could get rid of the 717's they use for Interisland flights though...

  • Where did you hear this, MC?

  • I like the 717's. Because they are reliable and i think they are perfect for the interisland fleet. The 717's for hawaiian are also making money becuase they are efficiant, cheap and since they are small they are usually about 85-95 percent full on the interisland flights.

  • Maui: DC-10 had issues, but this was related to cargo door design.

  • DC-10`s are veryyyyyyyyyyyy cool

  • aw i like dc-10's =(

  • Hey is there 763s for Hawaiian Airlines?

  • Yes, that is all they use for Mainland to Hawaii flights, and also a few 762s

  • These Hawaiian DC-10's were on loan to Hawaiian from American Airlines. They have now been retired to the desert.

    Signed an AA employee.

  • that FA feels like she is in a B747 cause there are 2 galleys

  • According to the Hawaiian Airlines website, in 2002 and 2003 the company completed the replacement of its widebody DC-10 fleet with 14 Boeing 767-300ER aircraft. So perhaps there was a DC-10 out there with the Hawaiian livery, but it's not being flown by Hawaiian. But Hawaiian hasn't sold tix on a DC-10 for years. By the way, why are you so rude, kalebleb?

  • 2:07- finally, a little surprise that the mask appeared! After I stop panicking, I'll put it on. My question is if you detach the slide from inside the aircraft, how does the last person get on it?

  • My parents are going to Hawaii next week, and my mother booked seats on a OLD Hawaiian Airlines DC-10 that flys out of PDX. I've seen the plane before when flying in and out of PDX, and it's certainly one of the biggest planes in the airport. But it's so old, that I'm seriously concerned for my parent's safety. I've never flown on a plane that old, but my father flys on business all the time, and he's not worried. I'm begging my mother to call me once they get there to let me know their ok.

  • Hawaiian Airlines retired there DC-10s a few years ago

  • wtf?!?! hawaiian fly's 767's to all of their west coast destinations. they haven't flown dc-10's in years. dumbass...

  • Oh gee, so sorry. I'm afraid I don't keep up on the latest planes for every airline, asshole.

And yes, before they left, I was informed that they'd be flying a 737, so my mistake. Last time I flew out of PDX in 2005, there was a Hawaiian Airlines DC-10 at the terminal, so I assumed they were still flying them.

Now, are you done being a dipshit?

  • I flew out of PDX to WA DC in 2005, and there was a DC-10 at the Hawaiian terminal, Don't ask me why, I don't care anyways. You could have given me an answer without insults, but I guess for people like you still going through puberty, it's just not possible. If I cared enough about this, I'd argue with you, but you just don't matter enough for me to waste my time. Think about this next time you answer someone online. But by all means, if it makes you feel like a big man...whatever. Bye.

  • quit getting deffensive. don't try to patronize me with your insults and make ME feel like the little guy, just because YOU were incorrect. perhaps YOU should think twice and get your facts straight before posting bs comments online.

btw, being that i'm 26, i thought i had finished the final stages of puberty almost 10 years ago? ...apparently not... boy, you learn something new everyday, huh?

  • wtf?!?! hawaiian fly's 767's to all of their west coast destinations. they haven't flown dc-10's in years. dumbass...

  • damn Vladpryde and kalebleb both of you 2 stfu. ur using up commenting space for your retarded and unnecessary argument. get a life!

p.s. it is possible to c outdated aircraft. like 1 time when i waz conecting at london stansted, i swer 2 god i saw a pan am boeing 727. i found out l8r that london was preparing for an airshow.

  • aint outdated aircraft mostly used for airshows anyway? unless the airline is small or somthing like that

  • Hawaiian Airlines obviously retired their DC-10s, dipshit!

  • DC-10's are awesome!

  • I hate DC-10s too

  • DC-10s rule!

  • Wow, that smoker is so fucked. He's going to have some massive withdrawal during the flight I guess.

  • OMG! Check the cell out, GHETTO!

  • DC-10s rule!

  • what year was this video made?

  • Most likely sometime in the '90s

  • They dont use seatback oxygen masks anymore because if they need to do an emegency landing, the hot oxygen bottles may injure passengers while doing the brace position

  • He..- Sacer..?

  • DC 10 rocks

  • DC 10 is one of the best!

  • WOOT!

    OLD SCHOOL LAPTOP

  • that's great video

  • Wow!...This brings back so much memories! I miss the DC-10, especially the lower lobe galley! Thanks for posting this video!

  • Yup! it's from the 80's allright.

  • Can you the safety video for Hawaiian airlines Airbus 321?

  • god help us, hope we don't get any of those g--d--- airbuses!

  • Hawaiian Airlines doesn't have the A321 in their fleet. they only have the Boeing 717 & Boeing 767.

  • The man that was just about to smoke was like SHIT YOU CAUGHT ME when the flight attendant came

  • Almost everyone in the video are Hawaiian Flight Attendants.

  • ah i miss the dc-10s. They were so great.

  • wow when hawaiian used to have dc 10s!

  • I dont like traveling with DC-10 its not safe

  • Wow! not a technology jewel....but makes me think of golden ages of aviation...

  • cool how the mask are in the seats!

  • 'eh wea ste all da hawaiians in dis ting

  • I liked the way when the oxygen masks dropped that man jumped out of his skin!

  • its cheesy

  • better than the video for Tower Air

  • this must be a DC-10-10 becouse the DC-10-30 have round rafts in the aircraft to use becouse the aircraft I was on was a Hawaiian Airlines DC-10-30 in 1999

  • looks like mid 80's or early 90s....DC-10 were used in the 80's and 90's more than the 70's....someone correct me if I'm wrong

  • What year was this? 1970?

  • Well there are people using laptops and mobile phones in the vid, so obviously it isn't the 1970s.

  • Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawaiian!!!

  • Best one I've seen so far.

  • it is not very good airlines beacause they arent bouillotte and uzma kelanie fleci !

  • This is much better that the Airline Safety Video is in plain English with subtitiles. This is very easy to follow. This Shall be Manatory on airline safety video because there are hearing impaired people on board.

On Canadian Air Carriers the Airline Safety Video have two languages in each other way and shows no subtitles Which makes it harder to follow.

  • This video is good.. Show cabin interaction and not very static.

  • He he, the old dude got scared

  • This is probably the only demo in the series where oxygen masks fall from both seatbacks and from overhead compartments in the first rows. Is the DC-10 the only aircraft type still in service that does that?

  • No, some Russian aircraft have this design still. This really isn't a good design, according to the NTSB, because if the masks deploy, and you have to make an emergency landing, the passengers are exposed to the hot oxygen cylinders if they try to adopt the brace position.

  • The IL-86 and IL-96 for instance still have the seat back oxygen mask design.

  • Wow, got an old BA one?

  • im not sure how you are so lucky to get these, but they are great
