Its not so much the look of the IRL cars that bother me, its the N/A Honda engines they use that bother me!! Tony George better put turbo's when the new car comes out beause in my opinion its not an indycar if it doesnt have a turbo! I miss CART/Champ Car. You just cant beat the look of those cars, the quality drivers, the smell of methanol and rubber, the great tracks, and the sound of those turbocharged engines!! I'm glad F1 is still around.

I went to Laguna Seca raceway in the late 1990's, stood at the short straightaway before the hill and the corkscrew, but during those pace laps, Oh My God was that the best thing i've ever experienced. The sound, smell, of those indy cars roaring by.

You won't get that at a current irl race.

Oh yeah man they totally plan on redesigneing everything by atmost 2011. I'll personal message you the link talking about all the changes they plan on doing. I find it amazing that Tony George hated CART, and now he's trying so hard to re-build the indycar series to look like CART.

yea dude the smell of that methanol is great. i was at the indy car race at watkins glen in 2005 before they started putting the shit ass 100% ethanol crap into the cars. and i'm telling you, the indy cars didn't actually sound that bad until they did this along with putting mufflers on the cars (wtf?!??).

but, yea the old CART series was the best.

IRL is inferior(from both a car AND driver standpoint) to the Champcar series. It pisses me off that we are losing what was a world class series. Those that like ovals and 30 year old technology should watch NASCAR. This is a sad time in American racing history. If it wasn't for F-1 i'd have no reason to watch motor racing at all now. Having the Atlantic series with Champcar was a perfect match. Talk about the screwing up a perfectly good thing.
