Schiff has the charisma and intelligence to be President, and I think he's the best possible candidate this country has to offer.

Every Presidential election that comes up, I find myself thinking "THESE are the people we can come up with from this great country???"

I don't have that thought with Schiff.

Paul might be a great person and right on 90% of the issues, but he lacks the charisma to connect with the masses. Schiff has that ability. When more people hear him, he will become more popular.

I disagree - Ron Paul, for me, ultimately has more charisma than any candidate I've seen since 1968 (voted first in 1970s) - I think he connects with the masses just fine when given airtime - which he gets plenty now. Why do you think he was clipped after the first primary debates in 2008? - because he was trashing every one of the other GOP candidates - he polled in the 40% winning the debates in audience polls.

I suspected that we are not nearly so far apart in many areas. I just don't want any more handpicked and carefully groomed frontmen (or frontwomen) from the corporate elites. Right now many in the GOP are stealing parts of the Ron Paul message just to cash in on populist anger.

I also am waiting to see where Palin actually stands on economics. Too many of these so called conservatives say they're for limited government but they have no intention of dismantling the bloated government we have now, they only intend to keep it from growing larger. Palin? Forget about it. She's better than most other Republicans, but how could he support her? Recall that Schiff was an adviser to Ron Paul during his 2008 run for President. Schiff has got to know that Palin differs from Ron Paul on major issues, not the least of which is her support for the Iraq war and occupation.

Schiff's accuracy, and ability to "get" what's going on, comes from his uncanny ability to be objective is the face of minute to minute distraction. He's talking about Palin exactly as one would expect him to. Of course, I would vote for a Schiff/mollusc ticket before I'd ever vote for a Schiff/Palin one.
