this is what dubstep used to be.. not the up tempo 'skrillex' genre which people fap over like they know dubstep.. know your roots bitches!... and dont bitch at me anyone who loves skrillex.. because you have to listen to this song in order to read this.. so i dont dislike you, your getting to know the roots of dubstep :)
@Clungification did you know where dubstep come and who "invented it"?
Dubstep is a genre that David Guetta made his own, he remixed disco song into dubstep, and after that... artists started to spread in this new line that is dubstep... some failed... other succeed, Going Quantum and MonstercatMedia definetly succeeded, while some other like Skrillex failed at making good music, yeah the music is appealing to the mass, doesnt mean its good music
i remember when dubstep was heavily dub based. now everything is an out-of-control reese drop. many people have accustomed dubstep with the wrong vibes or moreover people have judged entire tracks based on the drop or the first 30 secs of a track.
Sick song. I like that it's a bit different and doesn't follow the normal "dubstep" conventions of long build-up, discernible drop, followed by over-powering wobble. This song melds everything together smoothly and has a great sound. I'm definitely a fan. :D
I'm talking about what rharold is basically saying. Most people, artists included, have associated "normal" with what is "normal" for the genre today, meaning the popular stuff. That being said, artists like Skrillex and Ruusko are considered the norm in the genre by many (unfortunately). Skrillex' music--as well as music by many popular artists today--can be broken down to a general "dubstep" formula and I was saying simply that I liked that this didn't follow that same formula.
Oh, my bad. I assumed since you asked a real question, you were looking for a real answer. Faulty assumption, I see. I guess you would have been satisfied with some random YouTube dubstep cliché about how the drop broke my sub or my neighbors called the cops or some other shit. Anyway, let's enjoy the great music. :-D
