SuperEd! You went to HS with the intern ... his name is Chris? I missed all but two seconds of when he was introduced; he apparently gets a lot of fan mail himself! God bless 'im. He must have an absolute riot on the show!
I live in CA too. I have donated money, written, ranted and marched supporting gay rights but I fear I won't see the equality in my lifetime. I was born hetero just as surely as many of my dear friends were not. I have birthrights that they do not. Something is very wrong with that. How does a democrat/liberal state commit this Prop 8 atrocity? I'll go do the google on Silver Lake now. Thanks for the comment.
@ShirleyAnne -- (I don't know why reply to someone doesn't work for me.) I also meant to say there are gay Catholics! There is a gay Catholic -- I think -- I hope I don't have the wrong name, Andrew Sullivan who writes for The Atlantic ... has a blog ... The Daily Dish. Also Al Rantel on some LA station I forgot is gay. I will say I do know a lot of closed minded individuals. Craig helps break down those barriers a bit. Sad. Go to the Folsom Street Fair in SF! :) Castro area.
Incredible 3-D effect. Only Ferguson could pull off the oh-so-gay in the middle of California's homophobic culture (evidenced by Prop 8) and stay on top. The man is incredible.
I don't think you can say California is homophobic, I mean unless you've forgotten about San Francisco, Hollywood, etc. CA is really democratic/liberal, but there are many immigrants (Hispanic - huge % of the poplulation) who are Catholic. One can be Catholic and liberal at the same time. I've known more openly gay people in L.A. than anywhere else. Every been to Silver Lake?
I keep watching this over and over now. I loved "Oops I did it again", now I'm addicted to this. Yes, they look like they're having a riot doing this! LOLOLOLOLOL. I adore this show.
Saw bits of 10 to 20 late nite shows in past 5 years-No interest in celebs-Less when plugging their crap. I'd seen Ferguson few times before-thought he was the only truly funny late host. And then, by accident, I saw this-Turned on TV, seconds before it started-I sat stunned-eyes wide-mouth agape-Never knew it was alllowed-to imagine something brilliant in tired late night format-or maybe it's brilliant only because of format-No more CF, until it's close to this one. I'd like it better that way
I don't even watch this show, but it's already marking some serious uber Brownie points. 50 for loving Tim and Eric (and having them as guests) and another 50 for this.
Just 50 more points and I'll probably be watching his show every night, forever.

craig is hilarious.....wish i knew where he gets his ideas...ita a gift... or a curse...but sure is entertaining......we need u at 11:30......time for letterman to let someone with talent be seen in that time spot
Well, I'm a Turk but I can't complaint about that opening. I don't understand why some people are annoyed by that. Quite the contrary, i find it hilarious. Craig's the best.
Just wonder what sorta inferiority complex you need to have to feel insulted by this song! Do they even understand the lyrics, or did they just see all the pretty colors and feel affronted?
Why I think this video is so funny, I don't know. I just laugh out loud whenever I see it. I saw it when it was originally on tv and wished I could rewind it. Thanks for the great post.
people need to stop overreacting. this song was written 50 years ago. it was not meant as a cultural insult, it was meant to be funny and that is just what it is. lets not turn this into a debate about cultures.
There seem to be people under the impression that Craig Ferguson wrote this song... I'm sure they've been corrected, but it needs to be said again: This is a They Might be Giants song from the album "Flood." Tiny Toon Adventures did an animated music video for it almost 20 years ago.
craig's staff are pretty much awesome at getting everything he wants. and Joe, the props guy, is very prompt :) i've seen them in action and i STILL wonder how they do it haha.
When you mention Egypt, you think of Pharoahs and all his slaves.Would you see them nowadays? No,but it's part of the history that helped make the country what it is.And again, all we have today is the dregs.
ok that what happens. i live in america right now and some time i say i am i a Turkish, you know what? most of them asking me about camels, about desert, harem, tarboosh etc. so i am from Istanbul, i`ve never seen any of this all my life that is all about Turkish and Ottoman images that what the people saw about us from their tv. anyway i don`t care and if i have time i tell them the truth but after while they still asking same questions....
Just because others don't understand your people or your culture is no reason to be angry. They don't understand because they are ignorant of your culture. How will they learn to be tolerant if the only response they receive from you is anger? And also, I would like to point out that your cultural heritage is nothing to be ashamed of. You should embrace the things that make your heritage and history unique, and if someone gets it wrong you should promptly (but politely) correct them.
Constantinople was a cultural and economic giant in it's heyday.People from all over the world, lived there, learned there, and helped the markets flourish. How can you say these images would never be seen there?
Seems to me the only thing that's left is the bottom of the barrel.
It's funny you people, it's not meant to be historic and learnful, IT'S ENTERTAINMENT!!!!! What is wrong with you"? Go to History site if you want the lesson. You are watching th ENTERTAINMENT link in you tube! WTF?
You are overreacting. This does not claim to represent anything about your country, your people or your values. It is exactly what it looks like: A silly full grown man making a fool of himself by lip-syncing to a funny song. Your the one who read into it what you wanted to. I sincerely hope that YOU don't represent your country or your culture, because hateful words only beget hateful actions. I real man can tolerate a bruised ego without resorting to hate and anger to accomplish his goals.
I guess when you are sure of who you are, bad cristism, or in this case a mere joke to the funny or light side of a culture can really harm you. Too bad cause this doesn't change my way of thinking about Turkey, it just made me laugh. Chill pills people, learn to laugh at yourself.
Well, craig insults pretty much everyone in his show sooner or later. You gotta learn to enjoy it ^^ I am german, which means according to craig all I do is march up and down the street, annex my neighbours and smear poop all over my body. I can laugh about things like this, as a matter of fact I enjoy his jokes about my country, heritage, call it however you like.
German heritage - you are so right! Pardon me while I wipe this poop off my marching boots. Have you ever thought about the ruckus we could raise if we wanted to pull the race card? Man, we German's take a hard hit and we don't even give an Eff. Makes me laugh. Craig is one funny dood. Eer, ah, doosh!
