  • lol

he looks like a gay, scotish clark gable in this video!!! ( in the best way possible!)

i love craig! he;s soo funny and he's the only host i'll stay up to watch!!

  • 2:05 lol only craig.....

  • this guy's so money...

  • that intern is so sexii ;)

  • I went to high school with him(the guy in the leather straps), he's hilarious, was a very good athlete.

  • SuperEd! You went to HS with the intern ... his name is Chris? I missed all but two seconds of when he was introduced; he apparently gets a lot of fan mail himself! God bless 'im. He must have an absolute riot on the show!

  • I live in CA too. I have donated money, written, ranted and marched supporting gay rights but I fear I won't see the equality in my lifetime. I was born hetero just as surely as many of my dear friends were not. I have birthrights that they do not. Something is very wrong with that. How does a democrat/liberal state commit this Prop 8 atrocity? I'll go do the google on Silver Lake now. Thanks for the comment.

  • @ShirleyAnne -- (I don't know why reply to someone doesn't work for me.) I also meant to say there are gay Catholics! There is a gay Catholic -- I think -- I hope I don't have the wrong name, Andrew Sullivan who writes for The Atlantic ... has a blog ... The Daily Dish. Also Al Rantel on some LA station I forgot is gay. I will say I do know a lot of closed minded individuals. Craig helps break down those barriers a bit. Sad. Go to the Folsom Street Fair in SF! :) Castro area.

  • Incredible 3-D effect. Only Ferguson could pull off the oh-so-gay in the middle of California's homophobic culture (evidenced by Prop 8) and stay on top. The man is incredible.

  • I don't think you can say California is homophobic, I mean unless you've forgotten about San Francisco, Hollywood, etc. CA is really democratic/liberal, but there are many immigrants (Hispanic - huge % of the poplulation) who are Catholic. One can be Catholic and liberal at the same time. I've known more openly gay people in L.A. than anywhere else. Every been to Silver Lake?

  • Oh my gosh! 1:06 When hes yelling! HAHAHAHA! Oh it hurts!

  • I keep watching this over and over now. I loved "Oops I did it again", now I'm addicted to this. Yes, they look like they're having a riot doing this! LOLOLOLOLOL. I adore this show.

  • Just so perfectly warped...God Bless Craig Ferguson!!

  • I wish I could see Letterman's reaction to Ferguson's openings... those would be hilarious!

  • I am guessing that Letterman makes more money off CFs show than CF makes for doing it. Only in Hollyweird!

  • oh my days.

    this made me so happy<3

  • This is hilarious, and it looks like they had fun doing it.

  • one day i hop they do a special compiling all the best cold opens, because some of them are bloody genius

  • 1:57 you can see the shark puppeteer's head LOL

  • hahahhahhaa

  • Thanks for posting, this was awesome, was in tears.

  • After this song they had a cocaine fueled orgy.

  • I had one DURING this song. XD. (just kidding)

  • This is so awesome.

  • Who is the hot guy with his shirt off?

  • His name is Chris, and according to Craig, "he is a highly paid member of the production team". :)

He is a little cutie, but no one beats Craig :P

  • The "other" guy look like Shaq in Kazaam.

  • lol! My Thoughts exactly.

  • LOL our Social Studies made us sing and MEMORIZE this song during our field trip. It's 1000 times better with Craig and his gang doing it. haha.

  • I love Craig

  • He's on CBS late night, 1:35 eastern in the USA. he is awesome.

  • can u tell me please.. on which TV channel goes this show?

I am not an American and I and I really wanna watch his shows.. I think he's awesome

  • CBS

  • Totally genius!!!! Craig ferguson is brilliant!

  • this is was friggin hilarious because this is how the show started no intro they just cut right to this i was laughing so damn hard

  • HHAHAHA AWESOME i love craig. Greetings From Istanbul :D :D

  • haahah can't stop laughing CRAIG U ROCK!!!! LOVE YA!

  • Saw bits of 10 to 20 late nite shows in past 5 years-No interest in celebs-Less when plugging their crap. I'd seen Ferguson few times before-thought he was the only truly funny late host. And then, by accident, I saw this-Turned on TV, seconds before it started-I sat stunned-eyes wide-mouth agape-Never knew it was alllowed-to imagine something brilliant in tired late night format-or maybe it's brilliant only because of format-No more CF, until it's close to this one. I'd like it better that way

  • How many times have you watched this?

    It's addictive!

Craig was a 'hit' on his very first show.

Glad more are catching on to this show!

  • dude i has that accordian

  • If you can't make fun of the Turks who can you make fun of?!!

  • I've seen his show and dances a few times (Letterman fan)... but after this dance I think i'm gonna start watching on a nightly basis now.

    hahahahahahaha!

  • I think Craig Ferguson likes They Might Be Giants.

  • I don't even watch this show, but it's already marking some serious uber Brownie points. 50 for loving Tim and Eric (and having them as guests) and another 50 for this.

Just 50 more points and I'll probably be watching his show every night, forever.

  • DO IT. This man is amazing. XD

  • This is quite possibly the greatest two and a half minutes of television that I have ever witnessed.

  • I am in complete agreement.

  • Thank you CBS for putting this up instead of making us search all over for it! I ♥ Craig's snake cup! I even watched his Comedy Central special like 9000 times and I watch him almost every night.

  • craig is hilarious.....wish i knew where he gets his ideas...ita a gift... or a curse...but sure is entertaining......we need u at 11:30......time for letterman to let someone with talent be seen in that time spot

  • oh it's because he's Scottish... we're all like that you know :-P

    wee cheeky monkeys

  • no way hose'

  • i agree

  • Craig gets the violin strokes so perfectly. It's obvious he knows this song well :D TMBG are awesome.

  • ye i even thought he actually does it.

  • Thks CBS for making ur vids accessible worldwide on YouTube! Craig Ferguson is a fearless entertainer, he'll stop at nothing to inspire a laugh.

  • He's not making fun of any one. It's just a joke.

  • CBS Cares. :)

  • This is one of the many reasons why I watch Craig every day! That, and his great Scottish accent!

  • craig ferguson is the funniest late night host ever!!!

  • BEST THING ON YOUTUBE EVER!!!

  • one of the best song ever done by Craig 5/5

  • The little bondage guy is my favorite he is so adorable.

  • OMG I found it!

IT'S A GREAT DAY FOR AMERICA, EVERYBODY!

    YES IT IS!

  • So i've watched this about 7 times now...... and I can't stop laughing. It's like the Dali thing from a month ago. I couldn't get enough of it.

  • One of my favorite things of all time. Seriously, could not turn away...

  • This is freakin' rad

  • Well, I'm a Turk but I can't complaint about that opening. I don't understand why some people are annoyed by that. Quite the contrary, i find it hilarious. Craig's the best.

  • furgeson is aowsim. he pwns every one else fuck conan and every one els, this IS the man

  • this is my favorite of all his dances.... dunno if its a good or bad thing this is constantly stuck in my head now.

  • Don't fight the Ferg. He always wins.

  • i totally agree with you!

  • This is the best opening for any show of all time!!

  • He looks like Anthony Hopkins here.

  • How did that pole smoker, Conan, get the TOnight show over this comic genius

  • O my f'n god that was funny - the coordinated head waggle - OMG , laughter could not be contained.

  • Just wonder what sorta inferiority complex you need to have to feel insulted by this song! Do they even understand the lyrics, or did they just see all the pretty colors and feel affronted?

  • great song, and I love the little dude! Hilarius stuff. U can tell they have fun doing that kind of shit.

  • Excellent!

  • hilarious.... actually sounds like craig is singing...

  • This is so great!

  • it's adorable how the little guy just jumps onto the stage at the beginning..and when he winks at the camera..i want to lick him all over

  • was that him playing at the very beginning? he's damn good at violin

  • Nope.

  • TMBG ROCKS!

  • craig ferguson is way funnier than conan o brien or any of the other late night show host

  • 100% agree. Conan is energetic but not funny at all imo.

  • Why I think this video is so funny, I don't know. I just laugh out loud whenever I see it. I saw it when it was originally on tv and wished I could rewind it. Thanks for the great post.

  • one day i will rename it Constantinople

  • OUTSTANDING!!!!!!!!!

  • people need to stop overreacting. this song was written 50 years ago. it was not meant as a cultural insult, it was meant to be funny and that is just what it is. lets not turn this into a debate about cultures.

  • There seem to be people under the impression that Craig Ferguson wrote this song... I'm sure they've been corrected, but it needs to be said again: This is a They Might be Giants song from the album "Flood." Tiny Toon Adventures did an animated music video for it almost 20 years ago.

  • Istanbul was a hit for The Lads in 1953. WAAAAAY before They Might Be Giants.

  • Actually, the name of the band was "The Four Lads"

  • yes but the version he's lyp syncing to is The TMBG cover from the album Flood

  • wow this guys fucking great

  • he is British!

  • Nope the man is Scottish

  • he is British! I also note your 6 videos you have uploaded are of Tupac.

  • he is scottish

  • Now HE is the pinnacle of awesomeness!!!

    YAY for dancing puppets!

(who here loves his mustache like me?)

  • i love his mustache:)It's uh-mazing!! I wonder where he finds all that stuff lol

  • craig's staff are pretty much awesome at getting everything he wants. and Joe, the props guy, is very prompt :) i've seen them in action and i STILL wonder how they do it haha.

  • When you mention Egypt, you think of Pharoahs and all his slaves.Would you see them nowadays? No,but it's part of the history that helped make the country what it is.And again, all we have today is the dregs.

  • ok that what happens. i live in america right now and some time i say i am i a Turkish, you know what? most of them asking me about camels, about desert, harem, tarboosh etc. so i am from Istanbul, i`ve never seen any of this all my life that is all about Turkish and Ottoman images that what the people saw about us from their tv. anyway i don`t care and if i have time i tell them the truth but after while they still asking same questions....

  • Just because others don't understand your people or your culture is no reason to be angry. They don't understand because they are ignorant of your culture. How will they learn to be tolerant if the only response they receive from you is anger? And also, I would like to point out that your cultural heritage is nothing to be ashamed of. You should embrace the things that make your heritage and history unique, and if someone gets it wrong you should promptly (but politely) correct them.

  • An intelligent and well-reasoned comment on youtube? There is hope :)

  • Constantinople was a cultural and economic giant in it's heyday.People from all over the world, lived there, learned there, and helped the markets flourish. How can you say these images would never be seen there?

Seems to me the only thing that's left is the bottom of the barrel.

  • It's funny you people, it's not meant to be historic and learnful, IT'S ENTERTAINMENT!!!!! What is wrong with you"? Go to History site if you want the lesson. You are watching th ENTERTAINMENT link in you tube! WTF?

  • stfu no one gives a shit about yall anyway and dont blame "stupid americans" Craig is scottish you dumb fuck

  • You are overreacting. This does not claim to represent anything about your country, your people or your values. It is exactly what it looks like: A silly full grown man making a fool of himself by lip-syncing to a funny song. Your the one who read into it what you wanted to. I sincerely hope that YOU don't represent your country or your culture, because hateful words only beget hateful actions. I real man can tolerate a bruised ego without resorting to hate and anger to accomplish his goals.

  • I guess when you are sure of who you are, bad cristism, or in this case a mere joke to the funny or light side of a culture can really harm you. Too bad cause this doesn't change my way of thinking about Turkey, it just made me laugh. Chill pills people, learn to laugh at yourself.

  • Well, craig insults pretty much everyone in his show sooner or later. You gotta learn to enjoy it ^^ I am german, which means according to craig all I do is march up and down the street, annex my neighbours and smear poop all over my body. I can laugh about things like this, as a matter of fact I enjoy his jokes about my country, heritage, call it however you like.

  • totally agree!!! plus, the jokes are funny, come on.....

  • love it, he is funny as hell, even I get in his cross hairs with my heritage. But who cares! I am a devout watcher.

  • Hay, its worse for me....Im actually scottish!

  • lol im t

Turkish and i dont find anything offensive infact i loughed my ass off i love late late show

  • German heritage - you are so right! Pardon me while I wipe this poop off my marching boots. Have you ever thought about the ruckus we could raise if we wanted to pull the race card? Man, we German's take a hard hit and we don't even give an Eff. Makes me laugh. Craig is one funny dood. Eer, ah, doosh!

  • hahahhahahahahahhaha AWESOME!

  • i could just eat up that little stud in the leather!!!!

  • hahahahahah! 5 starts and favourited!!!

i love how the black guy keeps looking at the monitor, probably watching himself! lol

  • "you just liked it better that way" doesn't sound like a good explanation as to how the name change came about.

  • well in song they dont have time to explain history.

in 1626. Dutch ppl founded New Amsterdam, who later got name New York.

  • no you see . 1626 the dutch founded new netherland and new amsterdam . then in 1665 the british came and changed new amsterdam to new york . amsterdam being the capital of the netherlands and york being a city in england .

  • the black guy in the turban reminds me of Kazam the rapping genie.
