and this look 6:44 "omg he is marvellous" i must say that the ORCHESTRA is unbelievable GOOD that everyone understands his improvisations, I played it with orchestra and it was even hard for them to understand me without any impr :) awe-inspiring!
Marcus Roberts, who bizarrely struck me as eccentric when I first heard him, proves that I was really STUPID when I first heard him. Roberts has such fantastic technique and imagination--he is simply marvellous here. Bravo. 'Nuff said.
I can not believe how incredible this is!!! What an accomplishment for a self taught pianist blind from the age of 8. But not only a fantastic pianist but startlingly brilliant musician who totally understands the environment of a jazz group and how it should work together. Check out his other work.
I bought this DVD. It is amazing, DEFINITELY worth buying!! I thought I loved Gershwin's Concerto in F as played by Earl Wild--conducted by Arthur Fiedler--but this is even more amazing to me.
Unfreakin believable!!! This is one of the most gorgeous performances of Gershwin's concerto. Osawa is a of course a genius, but even more impressive to brought this concept with all the improvised cadenzas by Marcus Roberts. This is both contemporary while keeping faithful to the spontaneity of Gershwin. Bravo!!
I love the look of amazement the conductor gives at 6:45 during the piano solo when J-Master randomly plays a theme over another theme AND keeping a constant tempo in each hand. That takes serious skill!!
7:25 no gong? :(((

Funny how the conductor knew he needed a black trio to wear this movement out.

Remember, this is not jazz... even if it sounds like it sometimes
EdiEllerymissing 4 years ago
yeah it's neither jazz, nor classic. It's Gershwin and that's all.

Actually there is some jazz in there. When the piano, bass and drums were improvising over the chord changes; that's jazz.

É por isso que fiz o upload. Você tem vídeos bons de concertos também?

Tem de concertos de Bramhs, Rimsky-Korsakov e Ravel. Mas estes já estão disponiveis no YouTube.
Valeu.
