The latest new is not good. As of 9:25 AM in Tehran today. The ruling government has just about shut down many if not all of the outgoing incoming I.P. sites. The lasts word that were getting out is of massive deadly force being used on the protesters. Many have been jailed,beaten or killed. It does not look good at all. Without weapons, how were the protesters gonna fight back? Its a shame that some country didn't come to their aid in the form of a clandestine operation with weapons and radios.

There are many branches of Islam due to misinterpretations, or simply greed. Iran follows the most true one which is the original that follows the Qur'an's original views and beliefs. The latest new is not good. As of 9:25 AM in Tehran today. The ruling government has just about shut down many if not all of the outgoing incoming I.P. sites. The lasts word that were getting out is of massive deadly force being used on the protesters. Many have been jailed,beaten or killed. It does not look good at all. Without weapons, how were the protesters gonna fight back? Its a shame that some country didn't come to their aid in the form of a clandestine operation with weapons and radios.

The 'dictator' refers to Supreme Leader Khamenei and the anger against him is over the violent crackdown of protests and the fact that he has said that the election was a "divine victory" (even though even the Iranian council admits irregularities in the vote). Many people also see the Basij militia—read wikipedia, they're the ones attacking protesters and raiding houses—as a direct extension of his power and blame him for the violence.
I short, he has lost his credibility very quickly.

That said, Khamenei was the one who said about 9/11: "Mass killings of human beings are catastrophic acts which are condemned wherever they may happen and whoever the perpetrators and the victims may be"... so it is not clear why he is oppressing the protesters so strongly.
It is pretty obvious now that he is somehow complicit with the re-elected President Ahmedinejad in this coup, though his motives why are not clear.

Sorry, correction: I just checked, and the cries of "Down with the dictator" supposedly started pretty early and would initially have referred to President Ahmedinejad. He is being blamed for the faltering economy and the declining image of Iran in the world (remember him proclaiming that there were no gays in Iran?).
Of course right now, it seems people are angry at both equally.

What is the main task of a tyrant? To run the media. Any government that prohibits the freedom of the press (or has state run media) is an affront to the very spirit of freedom. 2/3rd's of Iran poplulation are under thirty because the theologians banned controceptives 30 years ago; when the poplulation exploded they had to repeal the ban. Heh, it's okay I understand. I read what happend in Iran during the 50's. But you should know that there is a VERY BIG difference between the American government and the American people. American people are watching what you do in Iran in case we need to do the same thing ourselves...Probably will in a few years. America lead the way for freedom in 1776 and monarchies fell soon after in other countries. Iran could lead the way in 2009.

We have slightly more freedom, although it's not really freedom. Our government does a good job at making it seem like we have 'rights'. The rights we have are crap like choosing whether you like chocolate or vanilla ice cream or if you would like to supersize that. Not anything important. In Iran a man and a woman can't live with eachother until they're married and the women need to cover their hair. Things that really suck. There's A LOT more that I forgot.

There are many branches of Islam due to misinterpretations, or simply greed. Iran follows the most true one which is the original that follows the Qur'an's original views and beliefs. The people don't kill the militia because they know if they do then they'll strike back harder, unlike America Iran doesn't have the right to bear arms. So the people have limited resources to fight back with weapons. Also, the militia thats being used are Lebonese, not Iranian.
