miep was very very lucky that she was Austrian. very lucky. she is probably the only women i have known that can hide 8 jewish people and take all their demands and do whatever they say and just take it. try to manage a business, tell the baddest news to them, and do their shopping and have a gun pointed to her head, and a lot of othe stuff worse. she is a women i want to be and i would be proud of it. RIP meip gies, anne frank, and the rest of those whoever died in that time of the war.

We have many Dutch in Canada, and they do not discuss the horrors endured by the Dutch people who refused to capitulate with the Nazis. Some of the people here were involved in hiding a few Fresien horses, enough to preserve the bloodline. So sad to look at the horses and think about the people who starved instead - maybe. But they ate the tulip bulbs.
