The fan base was pretty much dead for basketball, which i dont get why when people show up in big numbers for football and soccer. If Bennett would have never bought the team the sonics would still be at the bottom of the league, Cause bennett hired Presti and he changed the team to get it where it is now, so if the team was in Seattle it wouldnt have a chance to make the playoffs and they probably would still have Lewis and Allen which would NOT give them cap space to have all the great players they have now. If you sonics fans want to blame someone for the team leaving, dont blame Bennett or Stern. Blame Schulz for selling the team. I wish seattle would get a new team, a Oklahoma City - Seattle playoff series sounds so good.

@fun1234982 its true that schultz was blinded by the oklahoma city ownership group. i'll give you that but there wasn't just one villian in this situation. in my opinion there are 4. schultz, bennett, stern, and nickels. and yeah it'd be a very heated rivalry when seattle gets a new team and plays okc, i'd get tickets front row for that just like any other sonics game i went to.

The NBA owners voted 28-2 to move to okc ( the 2 being Portland and the mavs, Mark Cuban. So if you want to point fingers at anyone look at Stern, Schultz, and the 28 owners.So don't blame Bennett because none of this could happen without the owners votes and David Stern.

@fun1234982 i get your point. and if anyone voted for the sonics to stay then they could possibly be on david stern's bad side. im pretty sure that had a lot to do with it. mark cuban is the richest owner possibly ever besides jerrry jones, and paul allen of portland is from seattle and owns the seahawks also with loads of money. so those were the only two i expected to vote with us cause there opinions are heard more and will say whats on their mind cause they got power not just in basketball.

@fun1234982 from oklahoma's point of view, yeah bennet is definitely a hero, but how can you not be pissed at him still if your a sonics fan? he still lied to us saying "it's my desire to keep the sonics and storm here in the beloved city of seattle." i wouldve respected him a little more if he didnt say that and moved our team. if he just said he was gonna relocate immediately, dont get me wrong i'd still be mad but i'd at least respect it. but that man will never have my respect, schultz too.
