It seems like every time I purchase a new plugin these days it comes with 40+ GB of samples. I am running out of hardrive space very fast. There is not enough room for my music anymore. I am going back to hardware synths because I need a bigger computer for these plugins. And these software rompers are CPU hogs too so a faster one would be in order
dude a hardware version already exists: it's called a midi keyboard + a few rolls of duct tape and maybe some screws and nails here and there for added awesomeness.
Omnispere has it's own built in search engine so you live long enough to use it. Forget a hardware version it would have to be a top of the line Korg workstation with an Intel Core i7 6GB Ram PC built into it.
I'd say that a hardware synth with these capabilities would be impossible to even build for less than 5K and it would be more like a mixing console with a keyboard attached. This is so not just a piece of software, it is an encyclopedia of what tone synthesis is. If you just see this as a sound source or a piece of software, you've either not heard it or you don't have a clue. $500 is an absolute steal.
It's actually worth far more than $500. The resources used to create this instrument...the research/researchers. It's endless in it's possibilities. If you had a hardware synth with the same capabilities, it's would be in the 5k range at least. I've had the instrument for over a year, and I've still barely scratched the surface. Enjoy!
I just got Omnisphere and it SICK!!! If you are into soft synths, this is a new world of sounds. I like it better than my Nord Lead 2 and my Virus B. Awesome for electronic and for filthy bass sounds.
Actually, looking a tad closer at the musical setup here, it does look like a basic controller keyboard, underneath a couple of digital pocket notepads (on the left), a computer keyboard (front) and some sort of rocket launcher...okay, some type of mixer, behind the computer keyboard. It looked rather expensive at first because it was stacked. However, the product does need a rocket launcher as it seems out of this world. So my pocket can now gasp a sigh of relief, and so can my bank manager.
Tempting, but after having to wait for 9 months to use my Atmosphere on my MBP with the (AARRRRGH!) Intel chip, I'm very very cautious about buying this. Plus I don't have one million pounds spare to buy that keyboard either.
Best forever...

I hope the patches are arranged in logical groupings. Otherwise it seems like you could spend days searching for the right sounds.

'However, the product does need a rocket launcher as it seems out of this world' - Trust me, it is!
Anyway I must get on with some work. I have this fantastic new synth - I think it's called 'Omnisphere' sitting on my MBP.

What keyboard is he using? Is he using just a regular midi controller because I doubt that they are using a super expensive Midi controller.
