Quail can get so use to humans that they will literally walk up close and hop up on your shoe. It takes some work getting them to flush. We shake empty feed bags as we walk towards them, and use small dogs inside the flight pens. One dog is very funny. He pushes them with his nose. When the majority start walking away from the little dog, we use a leashed Shiba Inu.
@atcoplantation yah quail get use to you. My dad had a pet quail it would sit on your head and peck you. It hated other quail because my dad raised it from an egg and it wasn't around any other thing except humans for long time.
@tweeterbird2009 Awwww no way :( my quail who i named Frankie had her own made pen built outside but one day a magpie managed to get her through the wire mesh and killed her :'( she was the most sweetest little birdie i ever had :(
@PoliceObsessed well my quail was a indoor quail and he was a pet quail im only 10 so im not that smart and my family was having a garage sale and my mom had her cockatiel in a white cage outside and i decided i wanted to bring my quail outside in his cage but i wasnt rly thinking and i brought the cage outside without the lid on it or the bird in it and then i brought out the lid and my quail and before i knew it he was gone :( atleast i have some new 1nes now :)

that is an awesome setup! could you tell me how you built that pen? it looks like green house hoops with netting overlaying them.

@djrhyno909
The pen has a few problems. Let me get them worked out and then I will gladly share what we have learned.
