Yeah, I patch the original FireRed file with the ToxicPurple.

Then...At the title screen, after I press start, the screen goes completely white.

damnit conrad, i tried to patch the IPS file of this game with fire red, but when i load the patched GBA ROM into VisualBoy i just get a never ending loop of the opening credits. wtf do i do? The ROM works fine before i patch it, but when i patch it it just fucks up.

instead of re-naming the IPS file rename the ROM

make sure there isn't any save data

what renaming, i just used a program called IPS Patcher which is the mac equivalent of Lunar IPS. It has you pick the ROM file, so i picked fire-red.gba and then the IPS file, so i picked toxicpurple_A1.ips. The it patches it for you and the ROM should work with the hack. But it doesnt >____>

what i do is a name the ips and the rom file as the same filename (not filetype, filename)

then it just automatically patches it
