I didn't buy my Harley to street race. I bought it for the reasons Victory will never be what Harley is.... Nostalgic and iconic. No denying Victory puts out a decent bike but they, like all the others, are followers.
Besides, if I wanted to race people I would buy a FAST bike, not a Harley OR Victory.

I am both a Harley-Davidson & Victory Rider. I love both of my bikes! The '03 Ultra Classic is a strong runner. I've ridden 1500 miles in 23 hrs 38 min, as per Iron Butt Association verification. But I love my Victory Highball. I have never been so captivated by a bike, as I have been by the Highball. It is a real screamer. Go to RTStrongDog videos for a comparison of the exhaust and more. I moved mountains to get the Highball, and I'm damn glad I did!
I'd like to add that I couldn't race you on the street, I can start hard in first second or third without any bogging due to the torque and I clear 90 MPH in third gear. Look good and sound good! Not like that wind up toy Ninja listed below - come of the line hard in third gear and see what happens to your machine!

Brembo brakes are Italian, Dunlop tires are from England, Mexican electronics, Chinese electronics, inferior power output, poor suspension, higher price for the bike and 4k in extra parts to make it suitable to ride? C'mon. All because you wear HD boots, jackets, bandanas, glasses, underwear? Are you really that shallow? I want to ride...period. With that said, I'd get a Victory Cross Country.
First, too bad the camera work was so bad, but I think that was on purpose. It does not appear, from what I could see that there was even a vrod in this video. And, it certainly doesn't sound like a vrod, it sounds more like a twin cam. But . . . . when you set up a video shoot with a specific purpose in mind, it's extremely easy to get the results you want. All that being said, the Victor MCs just don't have much resale value. They're primarily a throwaway bike.

There have been many attempts over the years to bring back Indian Motorcyles. Although the idea was noble, it just was not the same "Indian". Now, with Polaris getting involved, it will positively never be what it was. They bought the name, this will continue to be the only thing left that will resemble the true motorcycle. It may still look like an Indian . . . . . it ain't no Indian. Hasn't been since 1953, the year they went bust, when this all started . . . . the resurection attempts.

I bought a Victory last year and ended up with a real lemon. I know a lot of people who are happy with theirs, but be aware if you have issues that Polaris is not responsive or helpful to their customers.

That looked more like a hole shot to me than outperformance. And why do so many people gauge what is authentic biker by comparing it to 81? If you can't make your own decision, just quit what you are doing and do something else. The problem with Victory, aside from being an undercover foreign bike is that it's styling is a cross between disco-Ness mated with OCC crap. It makes it kinda hard to personalize a bike that is over the top with it's swoopy lines. They all look exactly alike.

continue... 3 repairs I already had to make, one being to replace the rear pads at 5000 mi. I just hope the bike proves to be much more reliable. My ex bike 750 Ace was "bullet proof" as over 6years and 15000 k of ownership I did not have to make one repair. Honda = reliability, and that you can take to the bank! Their engineering is 2nd to none. I am sure to get alot of bashing for this post. That's ok as there will always be those who can't handle the truth.

My bro had an FXR that had high compression pistons, and a cam, and all the performance goodies. It was a blast to ride and put the stock 88 and 96's to shame, but you had to mod it to get it there. Victory's seem pretty cool to me. Ride safe.

First, too bad the camera work was so bad, but I think that was on purpose. It does not appear, from what I could see that there was even a vrod in this video. And, it certainly doesn't sound like a vrod, it sounds more like a twin cam. But . . . . when you set up a video shoot with a specific purpose in mind, it's extremely easy to get the results you want. All that being said, the Victor MCs just don't have much resale value. They're primarily a throwaway bike.

There have been many attempts over the years to bring back Indian Motorcyles. Although the idea was noble, it just was not the same "Indian". Now, with Polaris getting involved, it will positively never be what it was. They bought the name, this will continue to be the only thing left that will resemble the true motorcycle. It may still look like an Indian . . . . . it ain't no Indian. Hasn't been since 1953, the year they went bust, when this all started . . . . the resurection attempts.

That looked more like a hole shot to me than outperformance. And why do so many people gauge what is authentic biker by comparing it to 81? If you can't make your own decision, just quit what you are doing and do something else. The problem with Victory, aside from being an undercover foreign bike is that it's styling is a cross between disco-Ness mated with OCC crap. It makes it kinda hard to personalize a bike that is over the top with it's swoopy lines. They all look exactly alike.

continue... 3 repairs I already had to make, one being to replace the rear pads at 5000 mi. I just hope the bike proves to be much more reliable. My ex bike 750 Ace was "bullet proof" as over 6years and 15000 k of ownership I did not have to make one repair. Honda = reliability, and that you can take to the bank! Their engineering is 2nd to none. I am sure to get alot of bashing for this post. That's ok as there will always be those who can't handle the truth.

And my starting point was it is a Harley-Davidson knock off which it is. Look at their line of bikes, every one is like a Harley from your softail look-alikes to your, dyna look-alikes and hell even the baggers. Untill the day their are Victory motorcycle stores in almost large city and they have a great reputation like Harley, i wont back down.

That is why the V-Rod has a different motor than the rest of the Harley Davidson line. It's even water cooled unlike all other Harley motors. I love Harley's, but in order to make your comment valid, you need to know what bike is the real Harley Davidson knock off.

@StreetGlideF7 I'm not saying one make is better than the other, but Vics look nothin like a Harley. I'm guessing you have never seen one in person. Vic cruisers look more like Hondas than Harleys, and the baggers look like something from the Jetsons. You should actually be happy that Harley has some american competition. Maybe HD will start building a quality product for this generation, instead of the same old recycled 1960's style. Their market share is falling.

My bro had an FXR that had high compression pistons, and a cam, and all the performance goodies. It was a blast to ride and put the stock 88 and 96's to shame, but you had to mod it to get it there. Victory's seem pretty cool to me. Ride safe.

i can understand it's got a big ohc motor i just wanna see one at a drag strip with wheelie bars, on the bottle the whole nine, thats why im on here looking for victory bikes i just cant find anyone with one. i think it would be a good race just cant find anyone who has put one together. im at sac speedway and infineon raceway and thats the only places holding nor cal down. never seen anyone show up. but im looking cause i wont a real heads up race.
