  • I've been a very lucky man having those arms to cling to for 56 years.

  • Everyone just enjoy the music dont think too deep. If you think to deep you get stuck in it

  • Tammy was gorgeous and sweet just like the beautiful woman today in Country like Taylor Swift. Taylor is as talented but she will never have the life experience of Tammy and Lorretta to write a legendary song

  • kinda sad...

  • the womans libers hated this song..! i love it cause in those days things made sense. and a person needed a good voice to sing. not a machine thats just loud.! god bless you tammy. you and patsy are missed.!!!

  • What is ironic is in real life Tammy did NOT stand by her man (men) in her case!

  • @fantastic7heaven I believe its the other way around, they did not stand by her.

  • @ElvisFreak77 They had problems like drinking, but the words in her song talk about standing by her man even if he is cheating or drinking or whatever and she didn't. But that is ok, I didn't either!

  • Amo questa musica, dolce calma romatica country.

  • Wow. Why can't everybody be as unfake as they used to be?

  • LOVE THIS SONG.

  • i do stand by my man , to deadly- i love country and western singers

  • Wow.... what a beautiful woman! ...RIP

  • EPIC 20 years old. waiting till i meet someone my age who actually likes this.=] hahahha

  • yeah these people in those days weren't fakes

  • my x loved this song. shame she didnt listern to the lyrics..over

  • She sort of looks like Patricia Arquette from "Medium"

  • @Jackretro No she wasn't. Get your facts straight mate!

  • @kkiilljjooy What makes you think the audience is fake? The Wilburns brothers were filmed in front of a live audience.

  • When was this filmed?

  • good voice, but shitty song, loretta lynns were much more profound and this ones like "oh he'll beat you around the house, but common, hes just a man, so stand by him.."

  • Tammy,Tammy, kto tak bardzo zdobył Twoje oczy w tym wykonaniu. Oddałaś serce.Buzial za to od ucha do ucha w klimacie jaki zostawiłaś.

    Your man.Piotr

  • Love the Bench!!! :)

  • they did not lip sync is those days............this is real talent

  • Pretty girl

  • Wendi Deng comes to mind. :D

  • 6 people apparently never stood by anybody!

  • I want this to by one of my wedding songs!

  • THE HAIR!

  • This is country! Not the stuff that Taylor Swift sings. No offence, but she's pop not country.

  • @ShoelaceGirl2012 Look up "Hank Williams III - Dick in Dixie" In that song he expresses his hatred for "pop country" though to be honest it sound similar to pop country and rock at the same time

  • @ShoelaceGirl2012 that what all modern 'Haawwwwt country" is.. its all pop...

  • She was singing this song while her husband was beating her !!

  • Tammy's voice is beautiful. At times she sounds like one of those little squeaky toys.

She can't sing unless you give her a little squeeze :)

  • This kind of vocalizing just wouldn't go over today. The vocal line is full of cracks and unbalances in dynamics. In other words, it's a real statement, not a slickly produced performance.

  • im a 44 ears black woman i love this song we all have been in this relationship

  • @XilaHeart The great thing about music....it is blind to color. I love old country, R&B, Jazz, Blues...70's rock and especially Elvis.

  • my dad loved old country music he had so many records, I grew up and never forgot them. He had crates . But one of my faves was Big rig song... Convoy IDK Why I liked this but I do and it reminds me of feedom. Im gona listen to that next :)

  • I'm not a country fan but this woman can SING... live! She's impressive.

  • Creo que es una canción que muestra lo mucho que los hombres necesitamos a nuestra compañera y lo poco agradecidos que somos.

  • Why do you paint us all with the same brush?

  • When my daddy was alive he always play this song. Every time we got in the car, the house during Sunday dinners etc. It drove my mom and everyone else crazy. I can say for my mother and 4 brothers and sister, every time hear this song it makes us crazy and happy all at the same time! 11/25/06

    Miss You,

    Daddy

  • @GeeG420 - I know what you mean! You know, if you are listening to the radio and this suddenly comes on, or you hear it someplace, it's your dad's way of saying hi to you!!! My dad had his favorites, too that are now bitter sweet to listen to! I hope it gives you some comfort.

  • I hate today's country music but I love this song

  • Such a beautiful lady, taken from us way too soon. Drugs can wreck the lives of even the best of people. God Bless you, Tammy, wherever you are.

  • So beautiful.

  • "after all, he's just a man" - now THAT is one cool, profound line!

  • the blues brothers movie gives gives this song super respect

  • what year was this video recorded? the song came out in 1968, so probably around this time?

  • no effects on her voice thats awesume! not even reverb..obama should turn his off too

  • @allenthewonderful what do you mean by your posting? she sings in a powerful voice and knows her trade. does she really mean what she sings - or is it just what a deep-south-white-america wants to hear. men are always right and the women do better to swallow whatever he does: taking the family income to the next bar, cheating on her...?

when the workers still got their weekly pay in a paper envelope on friday night, their wives at a kiel shipyard in germany stood outside to wait for them.

  • this song reminds me of the movie coal minors daughter

  • Her voice is BEAUTIFUL my goodness.

  • a real woman to learn from....

  • thank you for posting a music video WITHOUT LIP SYNCING of this anthem of country music.!!! WOW!

  • ...This was also her first big 'pop' hit...as well as country...!

  • shes very beautiful! this song is so magic. love it. timeless.

  • goregous, just stunning. Even in Australia we recognise she was, she always will be, the 'first lady' of country music.

  • Absolutely wonderful! Thank you for finding this rare treasure and bringing it back.

    Sincerely yours

    Demon

  • what melancholy and depth of feeling! i'm so glad we could see her stony face up close. even she doesn't believe the advice she's giving. this video is a treasure. i just watched it 3 times in a row. thanks for uploading it!

  • Tammy must have had the flu when this was recorded--she looks a little green.

  • @Tetlama Shockingly enough, she turned into Tammy-hulk after this performance, and trashed the set.

  • she is the country soul and the unmentioned queen of klf. thank you tammy.

  • she is soo beautiful. =)

  • @RserBot2 ....lol....this woman had more talent in her little finger than Gag Gag has in her whole weird, meat-covered body. And WHAT ARE YOU DOIN' ON THIS PAGE ANYWAY?? Go back to your weird world of pop and leave the real music to us...the people who appreciate it.

  • I remember seeing her in concert in the mid 70's here in Portland, OR. My mom & I went. She wasn't sure she really wanted to go but decided yes. She was so glad she did. My mom was so surprised that she was actually FUNNY!! And the opening act was by an unknown in torn jeans, with a guitar & a stool. Went by the name of Larry Gatlin. I LOVE this woman's songs!!

  • she has such a powerful voice!

  • I WAS LUCKY ENOUGH TO SEE TAMMY JUST AFTER HER BREAK WITH JONES....HERE IN WORCESTER, MA. SHE CALLED ME UP AND SANG "STAND BY YOUR MAN" TO ME WITH MY ARM AROUND HER WAIST. SHE DIDN'T KNOW I WAS GAY AND SHE GAVE IT ALL SHE HAD. I NEARLY DIED WITH JOY AND WILL REMEMBER HER UNTIL THE DAY I DIE. I HAVE THE PHOTO TO PROVE IT.....LOVE YOU ALWAYS TAMMY....DENNIS TROY DTROY49311@AOL.COM

  • @DENNISTHEMENACE48 ...That's awesome!!! :D

  • i have developed a mad respect for ths woman. im sad to know that she passed on in 1998. i had no idea that this was her song...the song i remember from her was "jusified & ancient" back in 1991....life is so full of sadness and pain

  • beautiful voice,

    beautiful music,

    beautiful song,

    beautiful lady ....

  • i hope my man does not treat me that way

  • I couldn't agree less with the lyrics but the music is superb, and the performance of the lady is just perfect.

  • this is real country! nothing like the originals!

  • Today's Country music is pop.

  • YES!

  • Just think of how much that got lost because Gifts like Tammy Wynette,Bobby Bare,Connie smith,Bill Anderson etc didnt get recorded with a natural backup, just to satisfy the Pop marked.

Its so sad but its a Real pleasure to hear Tammy like this.So much more of her deep wisdom shines in this performance with natural backing. God Bless the True sound of Country music.

  • Simply as good as it sounds wonderful.

  • Absolutely Wonderful !! What an Amazing Voice !! I just Love the Lyrics !! She's is One of the Greatest Country Singers that I Absolutely Love !!!!!! Thanks so much for posting !!

  • If you like listening to a steel guitar, go to david hartley on You Tube and listen how this incredible human being plays this song. You wll be amazed how Real Country Music is played.

  • so sad that the man playing bass treated her song so badly...

  • Tammy was just an amazing performer. Closest thing to Patsy Cline we will ever see.

  • these are all the country acts in the 60's and 70's tammy, loretta, willy , waylon,

johnny cash, elvis this crap they have out today can't compare to the old stuff, othet good gones, Elvis, Hank williams today's crap is garbage

  • beautiful voice. beautiful lady

  • But when she died you know who was right by her side? George Jones.

  • @Katebart86 No he wasn't unless you know something the rest of us don't know. She was with her maid at the house when she passed.

  • What a wonderful singer Tammy Wynette was. Even sitting down, she has a controlled power to her voice like no other I have heard, not to mention the perfect pitch on every note.

  • it is pretty cool

  • it is pretty cool

  • Awesome voice...perfect.

  • I love live performances , if you listen at exactly at 1:49 you will hear the bass hit a couple of clinkers . this make this more real,Thanks for putting it up.

  • Tammy rocks!!

    Bass player sux.

    Steel player great!!!!

  • i love tammy wynette have this 1 on karaoke i love this

  • incredible voice, and perfect pitch.

She really needed do do more rock and roll, this voice was underutilized on too many slow, dragging songs.

    The KLF got it right.

  • She does have perfect pitch! This is rare today. Dwight Yoakam has this talent, too.

  • Real woman of Country music....unlike today's artists....I think todays artist are pop not country

  • @CubicalGirl I know, can't stand pop country! You should check out:

    Lynda Kay Dream My Darling

    Modern singer, classic style :)

  • @CubicalGirl there are still a few good ones out there Bob Wayne, Wayne the train Hancock, Hank Williams the 3rd, Dale Watson, Lucky Tubb, Those Poor Bastards, Tonya Watts, Check some of them out. I hate everything country on the radio nowadays but these are a few gems that nashville (trashville) won't give a chance

  • @CubicalGirl totally true

  • Do women still do this? huh?

  • I'm not worthy. I could never be a good enough man for a woman like Tammy Wynette. But I would like to have tried. Actually she was that type of hot lady that made me understand that even though I was a confused little squirt, I knew one thing for sure. I loved women that looked good and could tell you a good story. What a freakin' voice she had! A timeless talent that everyone should enjoy and respect. That was the country music I hated as a kid. Now I love it, and hate the new crap. You?

  • @paulj0557 ....And what do you think about Loretta Lynn? She was pretty hot back then too, and she could SURE tell a story in a song! :)

  • A wonswerful song! preciosa!

  • Stand by your maaan baby, one man is all you need baby little girl....

  • depends on who you are and the construct of your relationship.

  • Awesome Queen of country music... and queens favor her too....... lol

  • Never really been into country music, but I like classic country. And this song is near the top of the list for me. An epic song.

  • What makes this song SO great is that you can see she is singing from her heart and, experience. In pain, she holds herself in dignity and class. I wish she was still with us. I heard a few years ago that out of all the country songs ever written, this one, was picked to represent what 'is' country music. And, it really is.

  • shes so hot. im glad we still have shelby lynne and faith hill.

  • Appears to be from "the Wilburn Brothers Show"-which did have an audience.

  • AMAZING

  • What a beautiful lady. Great voice...We lost a gem when we lost her.

  • Love her voice! Classic country song, beautiful.

  • Sensationell! Der beste Clip aller Zeiten! Eigenlich geht nur noch Kermit der Frosch ab,

der hinterm Geländer hervorhüpft und Applaus Applaus brüllt.

  • so sad that the men she stood by treated her so badly.

  • @blindtommykiller isnt that what the song is about. standing by men who do bad things.

  • @blindtommykiller Maybe she needs to reflect on her actions, she may not be a good woman

  • @RserBot2 You must be blind!

  • @blindtommykiller That was Tammy's Wynette's CHOICE! One doesn't have to understand it but love isn't always something you can understand!! I just hope Tammy lived her life, without many regrets!!!

  • This is what i grew up on.Brings so many memorys back.iam a old country fan.The country of today isnt country to me.
