  • reminds me of the Oberhiem DMX

  • It'd make for some real punchy beats if you mixed this with a TR-707. I'm sure you've done that before though! I hear a beat in my head with kick and snare from the drumtraks and tambs and hi hats from the 707! On a side note can you recommend any lesser known pure analog drum machines in the vein of the TR-808? I like the depth of the sound but an 808 is always an 808 and i feel like branching out.

  • Yeah!!!*___^

  • Very nice toms!

  • wow .. no sense of timing at all , thank god for the seq

  • I still have my Drumtraks

  • How would you compress the kick to make sound more like Justice's?

  • wish the one I had was as clean as his - maybe I'd have kept it.....

FYI - the Crash tuned all the way down is one of the ugliest drum sounds you'll ever hear. :)

  • @TR0jAX

    geil!

  • Used to have this unit along with a Six-Trak, hooked up to a C64 with a Midex interface. Those were the days!

  • Thank you for sharing, this is pure education!

  • Justice sound...

  • Love the Toms!

  • Boah!! Das ist ja mal ein Hammerteil.

Sounds ultracool for a 1985 device. love the option that you're able to pitch-shift every sound! Excellent sounds!

  • More cowbell !!!!

  • Its weird how a lot of the machines from this era sounded absolutely great in a track and yet today a modern drum machine with realistic drums would probably sound out of place in music.

  • these pads look the same as sp1200

  • i LOVE this drum machine . i love it because it sounds like a robot trained to play real drums. and then it gets freaky .sometimes it just sounds down right evil . . i would never part with mine .

  • I did all kinds of tracks with this, until my girlfriend spilled beer on it.

  • I've had a Sequential Drumtracks since June. Mine is serial# 07029, modified by Matten & Wiechers by some previous owner to remove the noise floor so it sounds punchier and fatter than the original. There is no step edit mode on this drum machine. It forces you to get creative. Multi output jacks on the back are just begging for a good mixer with multi effects. My Drumtraks is always hooked up to a Retrosonic chorus pedal to phatten up the sound. This thing is a beast, always bumping it on 10...

  • Spicelab used this drum machine on his old stuff

  • This one I hadn't even heard of before I watched this video. Very nice demo, as always!

  • Oh Marco! Everytime I see a new vid of yours I so much wish we lived in the same city:) ....that drum machine is perfect. No messing with tempos or sequencing....very inspirational, thankyou for sharing as always

    Mick

  • @mik300z

Yes Mick that would be cool. :)

The Drumtraks is very underrated, very Linn-Drum like

  • @retrosound72 Does that sidestick go as low as an LM-1 sidestick does (think that Prince sound)?

  • @mik300z

You are both welcome to move to Norway, problem solved :-)

  • wow this one cool retro piece of kit marko the bit you prog sounded trans eurrope exrpess...:) thanks for posting

  • @soundmanhaven1

    thank you

  • Comment removed

  • @maxiemclerx

  • Never heard about this Drum Machine, it sounds really big !! Do you know if anyone has sampled it ?

  • @XaRuS06 yes

@ ebay can you find a sample pack

  • @DJofSWE

    thanks

  • sounds like drumtracks would be fun to own!

  • @mobilehijack

    yes much fun

  • Awesome demo! I'm wondering if this was used on Giorgio Moroder's NeverEndng Story?

  • @Shotec1

    thank you :)

    G. Moroder ? no idea.

  • @retrosound72 aw. i actually call mine the instant "moroderfier' something about yours and the way you you work it is very special .

  • Fully I always assumed this would sound smaller, like a TR 606.

I found a Sixtracks synth in a shop once but it had gone mad. Only made 1 ascending sound.

    :-)

  • i love drum machines! :) top!

  • @SlimMixer

    thx

  • cool old drum machine

  • 5/5

  • @bkroz9000

    thanks

  • @ojay2001

das ist ja nicht so schön.

  • Great demo as always, what a wonderful machine 5*****

    Grtz, Dave

  • @wizardofozbe

    thank you dave :)

  • Nothing like the old Roland drum machines.

  • \that is sooooooo cool!

    Great video once again!!!

  • @jezuz12345

    thank you

  • epic

  • @williyful

    thx

Ich will auch so einen. :) Ja ja .. Spare spare häusle baue...:P

  • @MrFruitylooper

  • cool story bro.

  • @benanderson88

yes the little Linn but with great sound

  • This is by far my favorite drum machine of all time. Great video!

  • @alexriesenbeck

    thank you

  • yaay!

  • Where did you find that machine? It's in great shape and sounds awesome.Quick and easy to program....

  • @scott93257

    ebay

  • I've heard of these things but I didn't know they were sample-based.

  • @douro20

    samples in EPROMs, exchangeable

  • marvelous

  • thats a nice sounding clap :)

  • Endlich mal ein vernünftiges Demo meiner Lieblings-Drum-Machine. May peace prevail on earth. ;-)

  • @PhantasmaReal

    :) danke

  • Great sounds.R

  • Nice! :-)

  • @massia68

    thx :)

  • Wicked!

  • Yeah! Das sind die wahren 80er!!! :-)

Jetzt kannst du mal richtige Multi-Drumtracks mit all deinen Drum-Machines aufnehmen. :-)

  • @OriginalBBQMaster

    das stimmt! :)

  • 0:50

hört sich an wie SCHNITZEL-KLOPFEN :-))

    hab HUNGER !!

  • I remember that ;)

  • and thats how drum beats were made in the 80's

  • i wona have one of those :S

  • piece of heaven!

  • hot video

  • @Rawwbot

Ja die knallert schön rum. Dafür muss was anderes raus. Soviel zu "habe keinen Platz mehr" ;)

  • @retrosound72

lass mich raten, Schwiegermutter ist ausgezogen? *feix*

Spass beiseite, welcher Synthy musste dran glauben?

  • @Rawwbot

    der D-550 geht dafür weg.

    Willst du ihn haben? ;)

  • @retrosound72

  • @Rawwbot

    verstehe ;)

  • where did u find this gem???

  • @offthelinegt

you can find the drumtraks sometimes on ebay.com or typical online music markets

  • @offthelinegt

Check out VintageDrumMachines-c0m to track eBay auctions for this and other vintage drum machines.

  • moar drum machines plz.

  • Och wie ich diese analogs liebe. How much is it? : )

  • @Admiralex91

nicht analog, die Drumtraks ist sample-basierend. Trotzdem sehr druckvoller 8bit Sound.

    350-500 Euro

  • I have that clap sample on my laptop and use it in Logic Pro for making 80s stuff =3

    Great video thank you :D

  • @furyplum44

    thanks a lot :)

  • i love sequential circuits machine ;-))))

  • @twistgrave

    I too! :)

  • What a great machine! I find it very versatile and easy to use. It should still very usefull today too, I think.

  • @MacKlaus71

yes, easy to use and fantastic powerfull sound.

  • that's so cool, i have a Yamaha rx 15 which is similar to this but shittier, lol.

  • @fozzwit
