I am extremely careful when walking around the beaver lodge. I found this hole before the making of this video. I wanted to show how to find the beaver runs. Everyone should use extreme caution near any beaver house no matter how cold it has been.
are u crazy kids do not do this.1 never walk on ice u are unsure of. never stand on the thin ice u are choping.2 u can shovel a ring around the lodge to find the trails.3use a stick or shovel to measere the depth of the run.4 never ever enter the water way to many risks to your life and a beaver isnt worth it.u found the run measured the depth select your trap set it and hope for the best.REMBER be extreamly careful when you are trapping over water.
@thedeerhunter1982 this is exactly how i was brought up trapping through the ice... same techniques.... other than gettin into the water, that doesnt really make sense to me.... but anyhow, i've been trapping since i could walk and 25 years later i'm still kickin! if you know what you are doing its not nearly as dangerous as people make it seem
I first check the depth of the water before I slide in with waders. Then I feel with my feet to locate the exact travel way of the beaver. I can "see" well with my boots. Check out my newer vids from this winter. One was filmed after catching a beaver in 60 secs!
