Lol at the transscribed audio :D, "its already here what's harmonic but its still too picking f taking uh other heavy things that are paid bills." WTF ?
all this feeling gibberish...everyone has NO real agreeance on the word cuz everyone says no one has "feeling" wen they can do it...ugh, shut up. fact: dis bitch iz straight flexxin on dese hoes.
He's by far the best teacher I've came accross, I've bought litterally hundreds of tuition DVD's/videos over the last 15 years, from Petrucci to Yngwie and out of all them Pauls have been by far the best in my opinion, he breaks things down and makes them easy to understand, whereas with Yngwies vids he just wants to show off all his ancient strats, his many watches, jewelry and show you licks that are pretty much impossible to understand!!!
I think that (it's my opinion) Paul Gilbert is the best teacher and guitar player. And you're alright, when Paul teach, he do it really good. When he explain, he makes sure that this is the most comprehensible even for the beginner.
@lespaulzrule best thing i have ever read...... ancient strats and many watches. And Paul Gilbert is amazingly articulate when it comes to lessons and being the best. I notice your on a first - name - basis with him lol
@lespaulzrule Paul is also my favorite teacher, but I must say the ones by MAB are also pretty good. I still prefer everything with Paul in it though!
@lespaulzrule Indeed. Paul wants other people to UNDERSTAND his solos and licks. It's like he's not jealous or frightened by the idea of other people trying to master his skills. He has to be a very mature person to get this =)
he is the only guitarist that in a lesson he explains you something, he is not like malmsteen that when he do a lesson he only play fast and doesn't explain nothing!
The audio effect Paul uses for the sweeping sound is a flanger with a pedal that controls the rate of the effect. Paul got the idea from Pat Travers. Listen to the albun "Go For What You Know" to hear Pat tear it up with this effect as well. Yes, Pat is one of Paul's big influences.
@GuitaristWayneWhite Great Info...Paul has such an arsenal of technique!! And I LUUUV PAT TRAVERS TOO!! "Snortin whiskey drink'n cocaine" has some cool flange going on too!!
@curtplatt he just hit a bum note to trick people into THINKING he's human! everyone knows he's a shape-shifting lizard that is part of a global conspiracy to conquer the world with shred guitar.
I, for one, welcome our lizard overlords and their speed licks.
when he talks about the the half diminished arpeggio, he isn't playing Bm7(b5).. I think he's playing Bdim, I mean, no 7th... only the triad.. am I right??
The thing I love about Paul Gilbert, is that he knows what he's talking about. He's well educated on music theory! Not only that, but he's the fastest picker I've ever seen. And to top it off, he makes great music.
If you like speed check out shawn lane. I don't like the guys music at all but if it's simply speed your after i havent seen anybody faster. Ohh and by the way... Paul kicks ass
i dont know what to do with the transitions between the am9 arpeggio and the power chords because just using my pinky doesnt seem to be fast enough for me if i dont wanna shift my hand to do the power chords
Paul's lessons have benn a HUGE help to my picking and speed....i mean, just a couple of weeks studying this lessons and you feel like god....but PG is above god haha
I got a friend in Japan who loves paul gilbert. When she said she met him, he was super down to earth and talked with them and showed them around. He is amazing
Whats pretty cool is that he doesn't give u the tabs just rite there,so u kinda have to watch and use your ear, but its pretty hard for me ,since i don't know any notes, of anything.
