  • Ah the drugs...(torn in my room?) bad karaoke night,,,I love Bowie he;s always been the most professional but the drugs got the best of his performance here..it s too late to be late...yes in deed- yet what at a performer he is...

first song here is station to station...

  • My ex-boyfriend looks like thin white duke... WHY GOD WHY?

  • @psvwoodshoven That "cocaine, peppers and milk" quote was likely just something he said for the media. Who knows if he told a fact or a lie.

  • @lollipopfop yu know that milk though.... very addictive.

  • @psvwoodshoven Ha! Ha! Brilliant remark!

  • @psvwoodshoven and red peppers!

  • this is one of my personal top 3 Bowie songs

  • @psvwoodshoven great comment...and probably true. Great performance though.

  • Obviously Carlos Alomar on rhythm guitar but is that Earl Slick with big hair on lead?

  • @JohhnyStingray1 No, no...Stacey Heydon

  • it WAS the side effects of the cocaine

  • @powerkor damn, i meant to give this a million thumbs up and i accidentally gave it a thumbs down. it must be the side effects of the cocaine..

  • David is allmost in control of this performance. The band sounds like session players. If only he was in charicter with a band.

  • @garthspencer he is in total control. This is a rehearsal. The band are frigging awesome and so are Bowie's vocals...are you deaf? Check your spelling as well as your hearing-aid batteries before you post next time :¬)

  • So stoned. The laughing is 'cuz he can't remember the words. Leaning on the backing vocalist. LOL

  • This is classic stuff, Bowie's guitar player rocks the house he is my new inspiration.

  • Bowie laughing at the backing vocals is hilarious here.

Check out the Fm radio broadcast -The Thin White Duke Live at the Nassau Coliseum 1976-tremendous live recording superb quality.

  • Love the part where he starts to laugh (1:08)! :D :)

  • Yea. Its also funny cos whenever I sing the song I always f up that line too. Great minds think alike eh

  • Oh you wish! ;-)

  • original versions are far better

  • I have this concert from a live radio show. It's awesome. (The concert..not the warm-up). Thanks! This is rare.

  • wish i'd been supplying the ching !!!!

  • love how he laughed through a bit of his song

  • I don't feel so bad now when I forget my own lyrics! Well, it is a rehearsal after all! Station to Station is awesome. Not his best version of Suffragette City (uh oh - here come the nay-sayers) but still a real rare gem to watch!

  • The beginning of a new personna for David Bowie. The germ of an idea for Annie Lennox. This was such a turning point for Bowie. This is just a rehearsal, so unfortunately a more polished video isn't available. I'll keep searching, though.

  • it's a rehearsal.. and more impressive for that.. he used to videotape the last rehearsal of every tour.

  • help, stuck in someones apt

  • Omigosh he is so hot I love how he looks as the Thin White Duke! (and every other persona as well of course) David is the best. Thanks 4 puttin this up!

  • Probably mentioned before, but do they refer to The Velvet Underground's "White Light/White Heat" when they sing "Watch that side, watch that side..."?

  • That was an Awesome Tour!! WoW*********** ;))

  • The other way you can tell it's a rehearsal is there's no vertical white lighting rig behind him (same one used on the cover of the 1978 live album "Stage". That and there's no screaming.

  • hey buddy "Stage" was two years after this

  • I know. He kept the same rig for both tours.

  • I bought a bootleg of this tape about a million years ago entitled "Bowie '76 Tour Rehearsals". This isn't the show (notice how late the spotlight was before he sings, but a facinating document of how he was at this time. Video quality is about what I remember, not great, but for rarity it's fantastic. Thanks for posting. Hope you put the rest on. I remember their version of "Stay" be rather devastating.

  • i like when he jokes with carlos alomar..i think he wasn't very cold in that tour..he's so COOL!!!

  • What happened to Stacey's solo ? But still I'm glad to have access to this footage. S2S was the opening number for the tour, which I remember quite well. Not many knew that Earl Slick wasn't making this tour until it happened. But Stacey did a great job.

  • Marry me!

  • The Thin White Duke gives me nipples like bullets.

  • AHAHAHA!!

    omfg!

  • Ô ! I don't dare to imagine the end of Bowie's tongue on the end of your nipples !

  • no,no no!! It's not his tongue that does that! It's just looking at him that gives me nipples like bullets! :)

  • I thought the song is called Station to Station?

  • Yes it is, i think they forgot to put that on-station to station then suffragette city. : D I have to go now before I collapse!

  • I had to come back!! I want him I want him I want him so much when see this slender black dressed duke with the combed back hair... dark and seductively singing so low.

  • OH, I love how him and Carlos struggle with the song at 1:07. It's so funny.

  • Yeah, Bowie cant even sing anymore cause hes laughing... So funny!! I think it was a rehearsing.

  • p.s The Thin White Duke is my ultimate fantasy... i've had 5,890 orgasms.

  • 5,890 ! Only ? Ô then, I make much better than you !

  • I lied it was actually 5,891!! hahahaha! : D

  • @pagey29 Pshaw! That's it? I've had several million, in fact, my vagina tires of having untimely orgasms when thinking of this Bowie Persona.

  • @pagey29 ooh, what's that sound, what's that sound?.....I must admit, didn't even realize it, but by the end of this vid, I was literally drooling....and my panties were wetttttt!!!! lol:) The Thin White Duke=S.E.X....

  • OMG I wish i could have a copy of this. I want this more than any other Bowie performance.... If told I could own only one piece of Bowie material I'd pick this! I can't find it anywhere to own... I adore the thin white duke and this particular song OMG

  • I think this is also from the 1976 rehearsals in vancouver (2/2/76). On bootleg transition this number is namely also included. Great sessions!

  • Beautiful! Wonderful! Fanstastic! Geanius! Excellent You Are The Best! ¡Mijito Rico!

  • lol that fuckup is hilarious

  • Extremly simple and sooo wonderfull!

  • Suffragette City this is NOT! But Station to Station is my favorite (or 2nd fave) Bowie song! This is awesome - thank you!!

  • Also peppers.

  • Front Row Center in 76 at this Concert at the Boston Garden! Those were the days.

  • It's foreign body in it

  • Man, Bowie really doesn't know the lyrics to his own song (Suffragette City) in this video. The order of verses is out of order.

  • surely, (but for fan I think it's fine)if you will read some about this part you will be know more;)

  • You're wrong unfortunately

  • why am I wrong, sweetie?

  • I'm singer of type Florence Foster Jenkins-David likes her.

  • Do you want to sing for me, baby?

  • ooooo00oooo,lalalalalaaalaaaaAAaauuuuAih!!!

Yes, when I sing David is very amused.

Oh it's to late, to be lead again, it's to late..

  • Ohhh, wham bam thank you maam!

  • It was this one magical moment, from station to station.

    lalalalalalalalalalalalalalal;)))))

  • you can sing very well, sweetie ;)
