When utilizing after effects for a frag movie as a tool, do people grab 1 clip put it in aftter effects, then render it, and THEN put in Sony vegas or whatever editing tool they use? Or do people JUST USE after effects to edit a whole frag movie? (I would think they only use it for clips, but im new to after effects so I figured I'd ask. Thanks in advance to anyone who answers.

but i would say that rendering out in AE before any editing is a waste of time

I dont wanna pre-render over and over in AE and putting them in Sony Vegas to make the final movie, but if thats how it's suppose to be done i'll do it.

@crazyspooks10 only use after effects for things that require it. for example specific effects that you can only create with AE, render those out, then import them into your main project in vegas.

or at least thats what i think is the best way of doing it.

@crazyspooks10 If you are referring to the workflow, workflow depends on the editor. What I do, is I put a clip in AE, edit it, render it uncompressed, send it to vegas, then I get another clip in AE, edit it render it, send it to Vegas, then I repeat it till Im out of clips. Then, I add music, and sync it upp! Then render in HD

I'm more comfortable using after effects to render good effects and then putting everything together in a simpler program like sony vegas

You can download almost all good presets etc. from the videocopilot website with tutorials aswell so it's helpful ! but remember getting all the plugins for free is stealing :( but i still have them lol
