I couldn't play fps was jumping between 28 back to 5, super lag even on lowest settings, when i formatted with vista ultimate GOD it was absolutely stunning. It was stable (above 25-40) with medium settings.

I'm surprised you got these benchmarks since nVidia drivers aren't yet even optimised for Windows 7 and after looking at other prominent website benchmarks with nVidia cards, I'd have to say these ones are bs.
Yeah, but I'm talking about drivers for Windows 7. A few other websites I've looked at give higher benchmarks to Vista because of driver optimization with nVidia cards. I got higher benchmarks on Vista and that's mainly because I have the OS finely tweaked. Windows 7 is a good OS, but from what I've seen it's nothing more than a retouched Vista. Nothing that can't be fixed with a service pack and users that know what they're doing.

It's already been benchmarked against Windows XP and it was found to be much faster than XP in every way. Due to the way DirectX 11 has access to the GPU.
I actually beat the game when it first came out, but I only noticed them talking arabic and german, not turkish, but now I did! Awesome! I even found Turkmanish speakers and turkmen flags around, this game is historically accurate : )
Well, Nvidia and Microsoft have worked together against XP, I've tested a lot.. the newer Nvidia drivers give xp much lower performance compared to vista, while with 178. and previous drivers xp would destroy vista in any game.. it's quite humiliating they would do such a thing.. I'm not sure as to whether ATI is doing the same or not, perhaps someone could test.. I can verify Call of Duty 4/WaW and Valve games give lower performance on XP than in Vista on 180+ drivers
I think we all need to face it, XP is near forced death, and perhaps a year or two after Windows 7 is released, Vista will start facing the same harsh consequences.. only time will tell. I used to choose XP over Vista any day as it killed Vista in game performance, but I itch to choose Vista on my dual boot now..

I'm so stoked to put this on my new pc.. finally upgrading from rack mount pentium3 dell... lol.
money was never an issue tech has just caught up to what i expect...
here's my build
MLb: asus P6T- se
cpu: i7 920
HDD: scandisk G3 ( 60 gig -149 )
RAM: idn ...sny suggestions?
I'm leaning towards Dominators Graphic card: whatever the best thing from Ati has for 100 bux........
eventually the i7 will be upgraded and the ssd placed in a desktop replacement netbook

go for cheap ddr3 ram to go with that i7. For a bit more than 100 you could get an ati 4850, they are great for the price.

performance cant cme from one part in a pc. its a combination.
annyway i think it will still improve your performance quite a bit.
my advise is yust install it next to your original OS and try it :D
before you install run a benchmark or 2.
then save all your important files to a flash card or a different partition
and kick on windows 7

i heard they like fired the whole vista team and started over with windows 7, because vista is so much bullshit....
hmmm...its almost unreal....the 9600 gt performs....too well? and nvidia hasn't even made newish drivers for windows 7...

there are nvidia drivers for windows 7 check their site ,and win 7 is best on 64bits not 32 bit,i dunno why there even is a 32 bit version cause all cpu's right support it,and the ones that don't are just better off with xp

It's already been benchmarked against Windows XP and it was found to be much faster than XP in every way. Due to the way DirectX 11 has access to the GPU.

I actually beat the game when it first came out, but I only noticed them talking arabic and german, not turkish, but now I did! Awesome! I even found Turkmanish speakers and turkmen flags around, this game is historically accurate : )

Well, Nvidia and Microsoft have worked together against XP, I've tested a lot.. the newer Nvidia drivers give xp much lower performance compared to vista, while with 178. and previous drivers xp would destroy vista in any game.. it's quite humiliating they would do such a thing.. I'm not sure as to whether ATI is doing the same or not, perhaps someone could test.. I can verify Call of Duty 4/WaW and Valve games give lower performance on XP than in Vista on 180+ drivers

I think we all need to face it, XP is near forced death, and perhaps a year or two after Windows 7 is released, Vista will start facing the same harsh consequences.. only time will tell. I used to choose XP over Vista any day as it killed Vista in game performance, but I itch to choose Vista on my dual boot now..

W 7 bulidzie 7000 chyba jest coś skopane z tym systemowym benchmarkiem, w wersji wcześniejszej wszystko miałem ok czyli wynik 5,9 tak samo w vista a w 7000 mam wynik 3.
Niby wszystko jest normalnie tylko pokazuje ze twardy dysk wypada na 3 a dysk jest najnowszej generacji i działa super szybko więc coś jest z benchmarkiem nie tak, jezeli chodzi o winde to jest naprawde świetny.

Wiem można to łatwo obejść wchodzisz do Menadżera Urządzeń (Device Manager) dalej Disc Drives i właściwości dalej zakładka Policies i odznacz funkcję "Enable Write Caching On The Device" i i uruchom Benchmarka będzie zupełnie inny wynik ale po uzyskaniu wyniku zaznacz to z powrotem bo dysk wtedy szybciej chodzi POZDRO
