Follow the cheese,..amen brother, not too many people know the man, The man, Robert Palmer, had class, a far sight more than most before him, I love the man.......James Brown was in my opinion in the top 5 of all time American bands in regard to the originality, influence and energy, that is the crux of the American art form
Robert Palmer was amazing on this song. But some people don't know the history right. James Brown is probably more than 50 years old here. This is in the late 80s or early 90s? James Brown was on his best in the 60-70s. His voice was untouchable. And the hurt and pain in his singing was unique and soul at its best. You can't fake the funk, and difinitly not fake the soul.
What's really sad is how this show demonstrates how drugs have affected one of the most presice showmen there ever was. He flubbed the words on a song that he wrote. Compare this video to one of JB in the sixties or seventies and you'll see the difference.
Palmer sure knew how to always appear and perform in a way to devastate female hearts. Incredibly talented... this vid just proves it. Talk about pitch, man.

A little hesitant at the beginning (after all this song was never meant to be a duet), but by the end Robert Palmer proved he belonged up on that stage with the Godfather. I miss them both.
Ever hear him sing Eat The Rich? He sounds insane and the combination of precise enunciation and pitch perfection growing into the parts where it becomes downright hellish screaming... WOW.
Loved this song by James Brown, he makes me feel good! Also loved it that James Brown did a duet with my favourite Robert Palmer! Thanks for sharing this! I LOVED Robert Palmer.
