That's Chris Welch I believe who comes in around 5:35. He's the co-author of 'A Thunder Of Drums', the book about Bonzo who he was great friends with. He wrote for one of the rock mags in England and to his credit, was one of the first to give Zep some decent press considering how reviled they were by the majority of Rock press at the time. Great vid.

This may seem an odd question, but anyone know how tall the members of Zep were/are? Plant and Bonham look like they were both tall(over 6 ft.) guys. I know Peter Grant was pretty tall and when I see these vids it looks like Plant and Bonzo are close to his ehight. Just something I've noticed and wonderred. Trivial pursuits as it were.

From memory - Robert Plant was tallest, very tall :) then Bonham, Jimmy and Jonsey. Never saw Grant in person.

Yes, and 320 pounds of hard hitting meat. LOL. He never fucked around. If he didn't like you he ignored you. If he couldn't ignore you he administered a gargantuan, nightmarish beating that left the victim piss drenched and shitting. Also, Page was feared for his Satanism. Once when he had a meeting at Atlantic records, 5 or 6 of the office staff left to avoid his glance.

Fantastic! I saw them perform in Frankfurt in an old auditorium (my memory is so bad after many years of rock) in 1970 - took my son as baby (now 38)> They played Whole Lotta Love for almost a hour!!!! Man the memories.../THANKS

Really interesting Zep footage. Surprised this wasn't on the live DVD. My Mom was teaching for the US Army in Heidelburg in 1970 so it's fun to see the Wall, Checkpoint Charlie, and everything as she described it.

This must have been filmed by a friend or family member. That's Chris Welch from Melody Maker in some of the shots. Is that you Chris that filmed this?? Anyway, great stuff. Pity it was so badly transferred. Whoever owns this, go and get it done to HD before it rots and loses its color. Once it's gone, it's gone forever.

This video footage - apparently from old 8mm - is amazing as it shows Led Zeppelin in early 1970ies divided Germany. For me as someone who has grown up in this country and with Led Zeppelin (the greatest band in rock music) this film stirs memories of my youth and former times as such.

Firstly thea are in Düsseldorf (near Cologne). Then they go by train on the right Rhein side ... heading south. Adittionaly they are in Berlin ...
