Now the woma that played Keven Bacon's Charachter's girlfriend looks just like one of my old teachers from when I went to Westwood Elementary School. Well she was not really the teacher; she was the teacher's assistant, but she looks just like her. Her name, my teacher's assistant's name is Giselle. I really liked her. She was strict. Her husband's name is Rick. I saw a photo of her with him when they were married.

I wouldn't spend 1.00 at RedBox to watch the remake!! Why change a classic? And today's music is complete garbage. Apparently the new generation of film makers lack the creativity to come up with story ideas of their own. Look at how many remakes have some out just in the past few years. Thank God I was a child of the 80's!!

I saw the remake before the original and I have to say- although the dancing in the new one was rauchy, the characters- in particular Arial and her father, were much more likable, relatable, and overall showed more room for improvement in the remake then the new one. It stayed true to the characters and made me want to jump out of my seat and dance. Worth your money, if if you are an original Footloose fan :)

i agree, this movie is awesome. but the remake is good, it's new, it's recent. sure the old one is classic and people love it, heck so do i! but seriously, stop bagging on the new one because you want to hold onto the past. the new one is good, so everyone can just shut up.

I just saw the remake  this week. I thought they did a decent job with it but this is still the better movie and a classic 80's movie. I do think the remake stayed respectful to the original but you can't replace such a great cast as Kevin Bacon, Sarah Jessica, Chris Penn (RIP), John Lithgow, Diane Wiest or even Lori Singer- the are the originals! The kid who plays Willard in the remake is really good and he was alot like Chris Penn in spirit!

@mspurity91: I agree with you but I don't fully agree with you. Dance is about expressing yourself in any way shape or feeling or form. Yeah some moves are really disgusting and raunchy but if the person is expressing themselves in that way then why shouldn't they do it?! I don't think it should be rated R because it's dancing. It's not like they're actually getting naked and going at it on the dance floor. Just sayin'!!!! :) have a nice day

How many of you just watched the remake, screamed, ripped your hair out, saw the icon for the 1984 trailer, clicked it, watched and sighed with both relief and happiness? Because you just can't replace Kevin Bacon and add hip hop grinding. You can still use modern dancing, but what I saw was kind of insulting to the original. But hey, that's my opinion...
