I find it strange why some folk compare muay thai to other arts. In the street, i can assure u, regardless of how tough u think u are, u WOULD NOT want to fuck with a muay thai fighter. You will end up in hospital, thats a fact lol.

Not only was he strong but he was a great tactician. Start off with kicks to the legs so his opponent struggled to move. Then he would aim for the stomach with straight kicks so your guard would drop. So now you can't move and your struggling to keep your guard up. Then he would move onto the head.

We do spin kick's and such. just try setting one up in sparring not that easy, some fighters do use them though. how about that kid that fights from bad co with the handstand kick,. i know theres not just him that does it but he certainly doesent train under master sken.

In March 2008, Master Sken was jointly awarded the title of Grandmaster by the Kru Muay Thai Association and the International Thai Martial Arts Association. However, because he was not able to travel to the Nai Khanomdtom ceremony that year, he was officially presented with the golden mongkorn in Ayutthya in March 2009. Also in March 2009, Grandmaster Sken was awarded as a singular honour the Gold Nai Khanomdton trophy for his promotion of Muay Thai abroad over the last 3 decades.

I'm sure i have read somewhere (i think in combat mag years ago) that Master Sken has trained in TKD as well as Muay Thai. Maybe he is just mixing things up a little.

Just training in sports muaythai can be a bit mundaine and tough, like boxing training unless you are really passionate about it.

Just curious what you see in the demonstration that makes you think of this as TKD? You won't see alot of the jumping techniques they showed here in most Muay Thai fights as there difficult to setup and perform as well as having a longer recovery. They are however part of the fighting style. This demonstration went as far as showing some of the traditional garb and the Ram Muay.

I think you overestimate this guy.. Sure he is good, fast, great power swiftness etc..

but Bruce Lee, had wisdom, like no other martial artist.. and these days, the speed on fights are pitched up, while when Bruce Lee was playing in movies, they had to set the speed down, so you could actually see what he did.. the power of JKD is unbelievable, when performed like him.. you cant imagine how powerful and effective it is.. before you really see it. he never uses his full strength..

I don't think a demo proves anything.. He's doing the equivalent of what a gymnast does.. Performing stunts in a controlled environment.. I think jiu jitsu has proven to be the deadliest art when compared with other styles in actual fight scenarios

True, i agree what he does is similar to what gymnasts do but MS has proven his is a top fighter and his thai boxing is deadly in many fights. JJ is deadly with grappling just as TB is deadly with striking. Cant you see the power in his kicks? I sure wouldnt wanna get hit by his round houses.

I used to watch this guy dancing at Wigan Casino in 76-79.

He won the dance contest several years on the trot, and was resposible for loads of guys incorporating martial arts moves into thir dance style.

He did all this drug free as well. Full respect due.

I however took lots of speed, never won anything and am now a fat slob. Ah well.
