I've just seen this for the fifth time, just about cleared my eyes. Thankyou so much for posting this. This is what the EU should be about! Great memories.
If your having a bad day just listening to Stuart Hall losin it ! you cant help but laugh along . Was it spitting image that had him as a character and everytime they crossed to the puppet it would laughing uncontrolably?
Heartily agree with all the comments. This clip brings back so many happy memories-from watching my parents laugh uncontrollably to the classic and unforgettable 'Muttley' laugh of the incomparable Stuart Hall. Even if there was sound and no pictures I would still be laughing. Thank you for posting nostromoau ( interesting amalgam there) and if you find any more clips please, please put them on.
I have made a longer clip of this which contains a little footage of Stuart Hall...if you go to my profile you can link to it. We cant post links in these boxes. When I get hold of a new camera I will probably upload the exploding mice and the ostrich game.
Thanks to that dickhead at the BBC (JOHN BIRT)who scrapped this gem in the 80s,weve missed out on years of STUART HALLS brilliance. The best oralist in history,by far.Have you heard one of his half-time summarys on Radio 5 live.?
I haven't heard that, sorry. I have received so many positive comments about this clip that I may record the ostrich game and post it when I get a new camera. It is also a real hoot.
Thank you, thank you, thank you so much for posting this. It is one of my most vivid memories of TV when I was young. I don't think I've seen this since it was first shown and I remember how Mum, Dad and I laughed til we cried. Stuart Hall's commentary was classic, that laugh! They don't make them like this anymore.
Please, please, please Nostromoau post the whole game. This brings back such wonderful and funny memories and is one of my favourite TV clips of all time. I would dearly love to see the whole game from start to finish.
There has never ever been anything remotely close to being as funny as the Its a Knockout European Contests.Stuart Hall's Commentary was a match made in heaven too. To Hell with all those P.C.Nutters who would have heart failure watching 99% of the games. You all make me puke. This was FUN FUN FUN and not a complaint in sight!! We'll never see its like again thanks to the boring vegetarian non-smoking anti-hunting wankers who hold the power today. Long live free spirit!!
Unfortunately I can only create these clips by filming the TV screen as the tape is playing with my digital camera. That is about as long as I can shoot before my memory gets filled up....sorry .
if looks could kill they probably will

When interviewed recently, Stuart Hall freely admitted that this was the one challenge on JSF where he literally wet himself laughing......!

Priceless! I'd forgotten all about this one. Anyone out there got the game from 1975 with the six-part circle and the exploding mice?

JSF and Stuart Hall were made for each other.
I seem to remember the girls were used more as dolly birds in those days.

I used to almost wet myself watching these games. Stuart Hall is a national treasure. I think they should re-run them on TV.

I have just uploaded the whole sequence from 'here come the Belgians' so if you search the site for 'penguin game' you ought to find it.

I am going to try to make a new clip this weekend...hopefully it will be the whole thing...as much as there is on the tape, at least.

They should make a show like this in the USA. Forget American Idol, Dancing with Stars and all the other B.S. This is funny as shite!
