After listening to both performances... Floor's note was LOUDER, but Tarja's note was HIGHER.

Not saying that Floor can't go higher .Not saying that it matters. I'm just saying, this note is not as high.

Not bashing Floor, but why are so many people concerned with the highness of the note?

1) Range isn't everything.

2) Tarja hits a higher note in Child in Time than in her version of POTO.

Another, "Floor wins for being versatile" comments are sort of shot now. Tarja has come a LONG way since leaving Nightwish, and she has sang in MANY genres. She's getting better all the time...

Fantastic voice: so powerful & high, so addictive, so beautiful & clear, with a perfect vibrato... Really, there's no word that could describe it.

It's sad that the audio/video quality is so horrible, but one can still hear the awesomeness.

Haha, are you deaf? She usually sings in the 3rd and 4th octaves. Her only "higher" note was in the live version of this song. Floor can go MUCH higher. Listen to ALL of the After Forever songs, and use a piano to compare the notes.

Floor has many techniques, just because she hasn't used this voice in album doesn't mean she is copying Tarja...people who had vocal lessons from Floor can tell you that Tarja can't do the last thrills (before the final note) as clear as Floor, she using vibrato and Floor here is using legatto so there is your difference

Mind you, they're like comparing apples to oranges. Tarja's classical singing is light years ahead Floor's, while she's unable to sing in a rocky way (that Floor can do, obviously). They are totally different. And before you start arguing on this matter by this video, this song is not classical, it's from a musical, and apart from the required big range, it's quite simple to sing.

Well, as a singer, I'd have to disagree with that. If anything, finding one style and being good at it is easier than being able to use any style to a tee yet still have an original sound. The shame her is is that I feel that lately, Tarja has lost that original sound that they may have had years ago, almost every symphonic chick metal singer has that same style, I'm sure it's partially not her fault, most of these singers were heavily influenced by Nightwish.

Well, being trained on proper technique has a lot to do with the development of your voice, someone people are just equipped or in this case, tailored to sing a certain style. Tarja has been in the industry a very long time and established herself as a singer within that style.

True, man. Floor can sing ANYTHING because she has a wide range (4 octaves singing range), she's a real soprano, obviously, her technique is simply the best and her vocal timbre is just too amazing to be put in a word.

I like Tarja's version too, it's pretty great and Sarah Brightman's version, which is awesome (she actually hit the E6 at the end), hehe, but nothing compares to FLOOR JANSEN, that's for sure! :)
